From the theatrical madness of 'Young Frankenstein' that only a Mel Brooks could produce, to the depths of passionate emotion evoked by such legendary musicals as 'Les Misérables' and 'West Side Story,' announced by Broadway Across America for subscription season 2010-2011 are a mix of six (6) musical hits that will also include such current Broadway show-stoppers as 'HAIR,' the dance excitement of 'Burn The Floor,' and the fast-moving '80s rocker 'Rock of Ages' presented by Florida Theatrical Association at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.

The 2009-2010 season of Reprise Theatre Company continues with 'A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,' 1962's Tony-Award-winning Best Musical, now playing through March 28 at UCLA's Freud Playhouse. Songs for the evening are drawn from her critically-acclaimed debut solo album Wish and from the stage roles that have helped make her famous, such as Thoroughly Modern Millie and The Drowsy Chaperone.

A report in The Canadian Press says that comedian Mel Brooks is working on a musical adaptation of his 1974 film 'Blazing Saddles'. Brooks says he has written two songs for the show and is currently working on a third.

According to her website, Bernadette Peters, who was most recently seen performing in New York in her sold out Broadway Barks benefit concert, will be playing at a variety of venues around the country for her upcoming tour, which kicks off next year. The two-time Tony winner will perform a wide variety of tunes from her vast theatre repertoire.
