The Made At Horse Trade Series will feature two works developed through Horse Trade Theater Group's The Fire This Time Festival, Yusef Miller's Breakfast and Kelley Nicole Girod's Ambrosia, playing as a double feature August 10-29 at The Red Room (85 East 4th Street between 2nd Ave and Bowery), Monday & Wednesday at 8pm and Sundays at 3pm. The summer's most acclaimed new play, The Best of Enemies, by Mark St. Germain (author of Freud's Last Session), returns to Barrington Stage Company, the award-winning theatre in downtown Pittsfield, MA, under the leadership Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Managing Director Tristan Wilson, for a run from October 5 through 16 at the BSC Mainstage, 30 Union Street, Pittsfield. The press opening is Saturday, October 8 at 8pm.

As we reported on Friday, it's now confirmed, that the role of Blanche DuBois in the upcoming Broadway production of A Streetcar Named Desire will be played by seven-time NAACP Image award nominee, Nicole Ari Parker. This production is slated to hit the boards, Spring, 2012. Theatre TBA.

According to Black Star News, Nicole Ari Parker will star opposite Blair Underwood in the upcoming Broadway revival of Tennessee Williams' A Streetcar Named Desire, directed by Emily Mann. Parker will play Blanche Du Bois in the production, which is set to open in the spring of 2012.

It was announced today that Emmanuelle Chriqui, Roslyn Ruff and Zuzanna Szadkowski will join upcoming casts of the hit Off Broadway show Love, Loss, and What I Wore, now playing at the Westside Theatre (407 West 43 Street).

The Theatre School at DePaul University is pleased to announce the appointment of two new full-time award-winning faculty members: Narda E. Alcorn, Broadway and regional stage manager, and Coya Paz Brownrigg, poet and director.

Producers Alicia Keys, Reuben Cannon & Nelle Nugent announced today that the Broadway premiere of Lydia R. Diamond's STICK FLY, originally confirmed to play at the Lyceum Theatre, will now play at the Cort Theatre. Directed by Kenny Leon, STICK FLY will open on Broadway on Thursday, December 8, 2011 with performances beginning on Friday, November 18, 2011. Tickets are now on sale through Telecharge.com.

Audra McDonald can now add wedding singer to her resume (alongside winning four Tony Awards). On Sunday, July 24, McDonald was the guest singer at the same-sex wedding of a Bloomberg administration staffer at Gracie Mansion. Bloomberg himself officiated the ceremony.
