Beginning August 9, Central Arkansas' audiences will be treated to hilarity and hijinks aboard the SS American as Anything Goes begins its run at The Royal Theatre, and sponsored by W.W. & Anne Jones Trust. With songs and lyrics by Cole Porter, captivating choreography, and a stellar cast, Royal Players' production of Anything Goes delivers summertime fun.

On Sunday June 24, 2018, Los Angeles Opera gave a matinee presentation of two one-act Gordon Getty operas, USHER HOUSE and THE CANTERVILLE GHOST, which LAO calls SCARE PAIR. USHER HOUSE is Getty's 2014 edgy, operatic version of of Edgar Allan Poe's story, THE FALL OF THE HOUSE OF USHER. THE CANTERVILLE GHOST is Getty's realization of the Oscar Wilde story.

LA Opera Off Grand and The Broad Stage will present a double bill of one-act operas by Gordon Getty: Usher House and The Canterville Ghost. The operas will be performed on June 22 and 24 at The Broad Stage, located at 1310 11th Street, Santa Monica, CA 90401.

The Royal Theater and Johnston's Home Center proudly invite you to join us for an evening of mystery, suspense, and laughter, as they present 'The Musical Comedy Murders of 1940;' a hilarious high-society Who-dunnit murder mystery written by John Bishop. Brought to life by Director Tim Huddleston, with an All-Star cast and crew, it's sure to be a truly killer show.

Lyric Opera's production of 'The Barber of Seville' or 'The Useless Precaution' by Rossini opened Saturday evening at the Kauffman Center in the first of four performances. As is usual for the Lyric, this 'Barber' is slyly updated from the original 1816 version first performed in Rome.

Lyric Opera of Kansas City concludes its 2017- 2018 season with Rossini's comedic jewel, The Barber of Seville, April 28; May 2, 4, and 6 at the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts. General Director and CEO Deborah Sandler today announced the final performance in 2017-2018 Lyric Opera's ExplorationsSeries. The company will close the second season of this new and innovative series with American Voices on Saturday, March 24 with a 7:30 p.m. performance in the Michael and Ginger Frost Production Arts Building. Continuing the theme of featuring eclectic performances in intimate spaces, this recital will feature Lyric Opera's Resident Artists performing art songs by prominent American composers, past and present.

Dark comedy is served at the historic Royal Theatre as the Young Players Second Stage and Arvest Bank proudly present Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, 111 S. Market Street, in downtown Benton. Show times are January 4 6 and 11-13 at 7 p.m., with Sunday matinees at 2 pm on the 7th and 14th. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for seniors (60+), college age with a valid student ID, and military, and $6 for students (ages 3 high school).

The Hermitage Artist Retreat in Englewood, FL and New York City's American Opera Projects (AOP) announce the second Opera Genesis Fellowships to composer Joseph N. Rubinstein and librettist Jason Kim. The award includes a six-week Hermitage residency, in which these two artists will work on their new opera Legendary, about the drag balls of the 1980s in New York City. The Opera Genesis Fellowship awards are presented annually to artists who have completed training in AOP's Composer & the Voice (C&V) training program which helps to develop contemporary American opera.
