This week, the cast of Jersey Boys Las Vegas welcomed Frankie Valli and Rick Elice, co-writer of Jersey Boys, as together they proudly introduced the cast of the upcoming Australian company in a private event at the Jersey Boys Theatre at the Palazzo Resort-Hotel-Casino. This was the first time Frankie Valli has been back to see the Las Vegas company since the grand opening performance on Frankie's birthday, May 3, 2008. After only nine months on The Strip, Jersey Boys has found a wonderful new home in Las Vegas and was even named ?Number One Show of 2008' by the Las Vegas Review-Journal.

On Wednesday February 4th, Erich Bergen and Jeff Leibow from Jersey Boys Las Vegas participated in a fundraising celebrity pizza-making competition on behalf of the Liberace Foundation for the Performing and Creative Arts. The 'Celebrity Cook-Off' was held at the grand opening celebration of the newest Sammy's Woodfired Pizza location in Las Vegas.

Nominations have been announced for this year's Laurence Olivier Awards, London's equivalent of the Tonys. The awards, which were created in 1976 will be given out on Sunday March 8, 2009 in a ceremony at the Grosvenor House Hotel.

Candice Bergen, Ken Auletta, Jennifer Bartlett and Donald Zucker, with Emcee Marshall Brickman will be at Guild Hall's Academy of The Arts Awards. Guild Hall's Academy of the Arts will present honorees with awards for their work in Performing Arts, Literary Arts, Visual Arts and Leadership and Philanthropic Endeavors at their 24th Annual Lifetime Achievement Awards.

On Saturday, January 31, daytime television star Tyler Christopher, who currently portrays Nikolas Cassadine on the ABC drama 'General Hospital,' attended JERSEY BOYS at The Palazzo Resort-Hotel-Casino. Christopher stopped backstage after the show to meet the talented cast and congratulate them on a spectacular performance.

On Friday, January 23, Mario Lopez, the current host of 'Extra!' and the Miss America Pageant, attended a performance of JERSEY BOYS at The Palazzo Resort-Hotel-Casino. Lopez was in town with family and stopped backstage after the show to congratulate the cast and crew. After only seven months on The Strip, the musical phenomenon JERSEY BOYS, the story of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, was named the number one show of 2008 by the Las Vegas Review-Journal. Recently named Hottest Bachelor of 2008 by People magazine, Lopez danced his way into America's heart on the hit program 'Dancing with the Stars' and is one of the most popular performers in the history of that show. He also served as the host of Warner Horizon Television's hit reality-competition series 'Randy Jackson Presents America's Best Dance Crew,' on MTV, and also starred on Broadway in the part of musical theatre director Zach in the recent revival of 'A Chorus Line.' His television credits include starring roles in the telefilms 'Holidays in Handcuffs' and 'Husband for Hire,' hosting the 2007 Miss America Pageant, and guest-starring appearances on 'Nip/Tuck' and 'George Lopez.' La Jolla Playhouse welcomes back Rick Elice, co-writer of the Tony Award-winning Jersey Boys, as the playwright of Peter and the Starcatchers. Alex Timbers and Roger Rees are set to direct with choreography by Kelly Devine and music by Wayne Barker. Peter and the Starcatchers will be playing at the Sheila and Hughes Potiker Theatre at La Jolla Playhouse February 13 -March 8, 2009. Based on the best-selling novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson, Peter and the Starcatchers dares to tell the real story of precisely how a desperate orphan in Victorian England became The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up. Adam Green has been cast in the role of Peter. He has appeared in Off-Broadway productions such as Election Day, All This Intimacy and None of the Above. Molly will be played by Celia Keenan-Bolger who most recently appeared on Broadway in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, for which she earned a Tony Award nomination. She also appeared in Saved. Lost boy Prentiss will be played by Carson Elrod, who appeared in the La Jolla Playhouse production of Our Town. Elrod has also appeared on Broadway in Reckless and Noises Off. David Rossmer is cast as the ever - peckish lost boy Teddy. His Broadway credits include Fiddler on the Roof and Titanic. Christian Borle, who will be playing the ravenous Black Stache, received acclaim for his roles in Spamalot. He also received a 2007 Tony Award nomination for his role in the Broadway production of Legally Blonde. Andrew McGinn is set to play Slank. His New York credits include Coast of Utopia and The Invention of Love. Playing Lord Aster is John G. Preston, who recently appeared as Cameron Parker in the Off-Broadway production of Taboos. Greg Hildreth, playing the good hearted Alf, recently appeared in Dance Dance Revolution and Gentlemen of Verona. Teddy Bergman will be playing Fighting Prawn. His New York theater credits include Dance Dance Revolution and Nobody Likes the Mormons.

The smash hit JERSEY BOYS at The Palazzo Resort-Hotel-Casino has been named the number one show of the year by the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Nevada's largest newspaper. In a year of stiff competition, JERSEY BOYS claimed the top spot for entertainment in 2008 ahead of such celebrated productions as Bette Midler 'The Showgirl Must Go On,' Cher and Donny and Marie Osmond.

The Tony and Grammy Award-winning musical JERSEY BOYS broke the box office record for a touring Broadway show at the Buell Theatre, Denver Performing Arts Complex, for the week ending Sunday, December 21 with a gross of $1,924,310. The previous record was $1,659,826. The smash hit musical opened to rave reviews on Friday night, December 12, where it will play through January 3, 2009. JERSEY BOYS is part of the Denver Center Attractions subscription series at the Buell.

Travis Cloer, the current Frankie Valli alternate in JERSEY BOYS Las Vegas at The Palazzo Resort-Hotel-Casino, sang 'America the Beautiful' before the Pioneer Las Vegas Bowl Game between University of Arizona and Brigham Young University on Saturday, December 20. Following Travis' rousing performance, previous Strip performer David Hasselhoff sang the National Anthem.
