Spike TV announced today that the network's live 'All Access' multi-platform franchise, which covers the biggest events in gaming, pop culture and technology, will return with COMIC-CON ALL ACCESS LIVE.

As Michael Riedel previously wrote in the NY Post, there is currently some tension between THE NORMAL HEART writer Larry Kramer and Barbra Streisand, who was set to direct a film version of the play back in 1986. The Streisand-directed movie never came to fruition, and when Kramer sent Streisand good reviews from the national tour that just opened in Washington D.C., Streisand responded to Kramer with: "Why make me sad that I'm not directing your wonderful play?" Kramer responed with an email to Streisand that can be found at the NYP.

THE NEWSROOM premieres on HBO this Sunday, June 24th at 10pm and there are plenty of reasons to theatre enthusiasts to tune in - a healthy handful, in fact, if you count the number of major theatrical players involeved with the project.
