REDCAT's 11th Annual NEW ORIGINAL WORKS FESTIVAL Set for 7/24-8/9

REDCAT, CalArts' downtown center for contemporary arts, announces its 11th annual New Original Works (NOW) Festival, a three-week celebration of Los Angeles' vibrant community of artists making work for the stage. This year's festival will be held on the weekends of July 24-26, July 31-August 2 and August 7-9.

The J?st Project looks forward to returning to the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the location where they launched their recording, 'Can't Find My Way Home' (Dot Time Records). As part of the Art After 5 series, the Philly-based band will perform today, May 9 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. The band is made up of internationally renowned vibraphonist Tony Miceli, vocalist/harmonicist Paul Jost, bassist Kevin MacConnell and drummer Charlie Patierno. This event is free with museum admission, $20; seniors $18; youth, 13 to 18, and students with valid ID $14; children 12 and under free. TCG Releases 52nd Annual World Theatre Day Messages from Brett Bailey and Diane Rodriguez

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre and home of the U.S. Center of the International Theatre Institute (ITI-US), has released Brett Bailey and Diane Rodriguez's World Theatre Day 2014 messages. Each year, a renowned theatre artist of world stature is invited by ITI Worldwide in Paris to craft the International Message, which is then translated into more than 20 languages to mark the global occasion. This year, TCG has renewed their tradition of asking a noted U.S. artist to also reflect on the themes of World Theatre Day.

BWW Reviews: COMPANY Opens at the White Theatre in Kansas City

Company, the musical comedy about a single man turning 35, opened to a sold-out house Saturday February 8 at the White Theatre in Overland Park, Kan. With music and lyrics by Stephen Sondheim and from a book by George Furth, Director Barb Nichols assembled a talented cast of singers and dancers for the production. Music Director Martha Risser conducted a flawless performance by the accompanying orchestra.
