Internationally renowned Jazz Pianist John Harkins has a new album out and is set to launch his new CD on Sunday 17th January, 2016, at the Sailmaster Tavern in North Haven.

The Arts at Millersville University and Harrisburg native, jazz pianist and composer, Steve Rudolph will present The Jost Project with Special Guest Drummer Marko Marcinko as part of the Ware Center's popular Jazz in the Sky series in the Owen Salon overlooking Prince Street tonight, October 9 at 7:30 PM. The band includes vibraphonist Tony Miceli, vocalist/harmonist Paul Jost, and bassist Kevin MacConnell.  Devoted to presenting innovative arrangements of classic rock in a jazz format, The Jost Project plays the music of the 60's and 70's. According to Jazz in Europe, "The Jost Project is, without a doubt, one of the most creative bands I have heard in years."

Since returning to her native Bay Area in 2006 from a period of living and working in Europe, vocalist Laurie Antonioli has concentrated her creative energies on her American Dreams band, which backed her on last year's breakthrough Origin Records release 'Songs of Shadow, Songs of Light.' For her new Origin CD, 'Varuna,' Antonioli returns to an important chapter in her musical life by recording intimate sessions with her collaborator of more than 25 years, the esteemed pianist Richie Beirach. The CD, Antonioli's 6th as a leader, will be released September 18.

The month also marks the beginning of the Catch A Rising Star Series, comprised of Arizona musicians ages 18 to 24, who have been specially selected by The Nash,. Closer Than Ever opened Friday night at the Barn Players in Mission, Kan. The play with lyrics by Richard Maltby Jr. and music by David Shire is the yearly musical fundraiser for the Barn Players.
