Peter Wing Healey, dancer, actor, writer, choreographer, director, known for his portrayal of female characters, will be featured in his new play, THYESTES' FEAST, based on fragments of lost Greek plays set in a high fashion version of the culture of ancient Mycenae.

The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra will present a four week 'American Originals' festival, celebrating music written by American and European composers while living in America. The festival opens with a program of works by Bernstein, Barber and Rachmaninov on Thursday, October 30, 2008, and concludes with the Atlanta debut of a concert-staged production of John Adams' Dr. Atomic on Sunday, November 23, 2008.

Lincoln Center announced today an exciting series of artistic and educational events and initiatives to celebrate its forthcoming 50th anniversary, officially beginning with a ceremony to commemorate the institution's original groundbreaking in 1959 and ending with a campus-wide open house. The anniversary celebration coincides with the physical transformation of Lincoln Center, designed to make the campus a more open, accessible and vibrant urban destination. Ribbon cuttings will be held throughout the year as redevelopment projects are completed.

A new season of 'New Visions'-subtitled 'The Literary Muse'-begins on October 20 at the Rose Theater with the New York premiere of Don Quijote de la Mancha: Romances y Musicas, in which Cervantes' picaresque 17th-century tale of Don Quixote comes alive in a glorious evening of music and spoken word conceived by master viola da gambist and early music expert Jordi Savall.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts announced the selection of the individuals who will receive the Kennedy Center Honors of 2008. Recipients to be honored at the 31st annual national celebration of the arts are: actor Morgan Freeman, singer George Jones, actress and singer Barbra Streisand, choreographer Twyla Tharp, and musicians Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey of The Who.

Our Lady J returns to The Zipper Factory (336 West 37th Street, between 8th and 9th Avenues) for two new concerts of all-original music in celebration of the release of her new EP 'Our Lady J: Live From The Zipper Factory,' which was recorded last October. Along with favorites including 'Picture of a Man' and 'Pink Prada Purse,' Our Lady J will continue to bring gospel music into the 21st century by debuting a score of fresh tunes with The Pink Champagne Orchestra and The Train To Kill Gospel Choir.
