Amas Musical Theatre will present free staged readings of NELLIE BEEZER'S MELTING POT FOLLIES OF 1922, a new musical written by Phillip George and Kathy Griffith, with additional material by Gerard Alessandrini and David Caldwell. The readings, also directed by Phillip George, will take place on Monday, October 11th at 6:00pm, and Tuesday, October 12th at 3:00pm and 7:00pm, at Ripley-Grier Studios, 520 Eighth Avenue (10th Floor).

The season heralds a bold, new direction for the company. Jocelyn seeks to redefine Canadian Stage as a centre for national and international multi-disciplinary theatre that pushes boundaries, adopts a 21st-century perspective and reflects Toronto's cultural diversity. The work will be driven by directors and auteurs at the forefront of contemporary theatre and audiences will have the opportunity to discover a new generation of story-tellers who challenge and entertain.

This year, The Carol Tambor Best of Edinburgh Award goes to OVID'S METAMORPHOSES, adapted and directed by Peter Bramley with original music by Lucy Egger. The production is from the acclaimed London-based company Pants On Fire. The Carol Tambor Theatrical Foundation will present the winning production at the Obie and Drama Desk Award-winning The Flea Theater in January 2011.

Led by world acclaimed architect and show designer, Mark Fisher, Voyage de la Vie is an original production and will be the first theatrical rock circus spectacular to originate in Singapore. Literally translated as the ‘journey of life', Voyage de la Vie is filled with death?defying circus acts, mindboggling feats of agility, speed and balance, pulsating music, stunning sets and costumes. It begins with the story of a young man in a quest to discover his true identity and destiny.

Directors Stephen Daldry and Danny Boyle will create the opening ceremony for the 2012 London Summer Olympics, The Guardian reports. Boyle will be the ceremony's artistic director, and Daldry will be the executive producer of the creation of all ceremonies.
