The worldwide smash hit 'rock theatrical', Queen and Ben Elton's We Will Rock You, built around 24 of Queen's biggest hits, opens at the Murat Theatre at Old National Centre tonight, May 20, 2014 and will stage seven performances through Sunday, May 25 (a full performance schedule is below). If there had ever been any doubts over the calibre of work for children and young people produced in Scotland, the 2014 CATS shortlists released today, Thursday 8 May 2014, would immediately dispel them. Two productions created specifically with a younger audience in mind - Dragon (Vox Motus, National Theatre of Scotland and the Tianjin People's Art Theatre, China) and Huff (Shona Reppe and Andy Manley, produced by Catherine Wheels Theatre Company) - have together received eight nominations across six categories including the highest accolade, Best Production.

THESE BOOTS WERE MADE FOR ROCKIN', a pair of one-night-only, sexy cabaret concerts organized by MARK FISHER FITNESS and featuring company members from the 2013 Tony Award-winning Best Musical KINKY BOOTS, will play 54 BELOW (254 West 54th Street) on the evening of Monday, May 26 at 9:30 PM and 11:30 PM. All proceeds from the evening will benefit BROADWAY CARES/EQUITY FIGHTS AIDS in support of BROADWAY BARES: ROCK HARD! (#bwaybares).

If there's any 'jukebox' musical that should be wildly over the top it would have to be one connected with the 70's and 80's rock group Queen. It just makes sense. Their music always had a sort of 'larger than life', heroic quality to it to begin with. So, it's only natural that WE WILL ROCK YOU (book by Ben Elton), the stage adaptation, delivers a perfectly cheesy science fiction plot that forecasts a dystopian future where instruments and composers have become outlawed. With a thumping ten-piece band pumping out the score, this amusing and undeniably wacky production is rockin' the Fabulous Fox Theatre.

Today we are talking to the founder and Vice President of Yamaha Entertainment Group who single-handedly spearheaded the incentive to create a one-of-a-kind work of pianistic art for iconic Tony Award-winning rock legend Elton John to utilize in a spectacular new concert experience called THE MILLION DOLLAR PIANO - the passionate and dedicated Chris Gero. Discussing all aspects of the impetus, development, design and actual building and subsequent employment of the technology created to craft the Million Dollar Piano itself, Gero sheds a light on the half-decade-spanning process of bringing the technological and artistic achievement to the stage and outlines Elton John's own participation in the project. This is my final week of blogs (for serious this time), and it's breaking my heart. I love sharing our shenanigans with you guys because I truly believe this group of weirdos at 'Disaster!' is the greatest! Last week, I spent 6 out of 7 days with my cast mates. We only have 4 shows a week. We work together, we eat/drink together after the show, and on our days off, we gravitate right back to each other to continue the fun. Basically, we're in love.
