Liverpool Theatre Festival returns in less than two weeks – and one highlight of the 11-day programme is Sober Companion, a specially commissioned new play co-written and co-starring Liverpool-born actor Joe McGann and Jake Norton. 

The final four shows have been announced for this year's 11-day Liverpool Theatre Festival which takes place next month with a brand new Summer date.

An unmissable one-woman show by acclaimed playwright Mark Davies Markham is returning to the Liverpool stage this summer after winning rave reviews from audiences and critics alike.

The second annual Liverpool Theatre Festival has been hailed a roaring success after attracting an audience of 2,700 theatregoers across 12 days.

The Boy George musical, Taboo, has a 20th anniversary approaching and to celebrate, a reunion concert has been announced at the London Palladium this winter!

Now added to the programme are shows Perfectly Frank, Twice Nightly and Swan Song, with cast announcements for 2Gorgeous4U, Everybody’s Talking About Musicals, Boing…Meow! The Musical, and Broken Biscuits. Tickets are on sale for all shows. 

A sister event and new strand to Liverpool Theatre Festival, which was first staged in September 2020, Little LTF was launched to champion and showcase new works and rising talent as lockdown restrictions are lifted. 

Liverpool Theatre Festival runs between Wednesday 1 September and Sunday 12 September 2021. The 10-day event features mainstream and established acts, artists, and productions. The festival will adhere to all Covid-19 and Government guidelines required at the time.

Broadway veteran and Taboo writer Boy George stopped by the GLAAD Media Awards earlier this month, where he confirmed in an interview with Mike Diamond that the show might be heading back to the stage. When asked about the odds of a revival, he commented: 'Very good. We've actually written a new script and we are in talks with people to do a new production. So yeah, it's something I want to happen.'

The producers of Taboo - The Boy George Musical have announced new casting for the acclaimed production at Brixton's Club House.

According to reports from whatsonstage.com, full casting has been announced for the revival of Boy George's musical TABOO, which will take place at Brixton Club House from September 6 through December 23, 2012.

As BroadwayWorld reported yesterday, producers Danielle Tarento and Bronia Buchanan will present a new production of Boy George's Taboo at Brixton Club House following last month's launch of the VIP Gold Room, marking the multi-purpose venue's first foray into theatre. Today, it has been revealed that the show will star one of its original leading men, Paul Baker, as the club's promoter Philip Sallon. Baker won an Olivier award for the role in 2003. He is additionally known for his performances in the West End productions of Chicago (Amos), Napoleon (Napoleon), the original cast of The Lion King (Zazu, Timon) and Starlight Express (Rusty).
