The New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera debuts Amilcare Ponchielli's magnificent work, LA GIOCONDA, replete with complex plots and intrigue, on Sunday, April 17 at 3:00 p.m. at the Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC), located at 30 North Van Brunt Street, in Englewood, New Jersey. 

The New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera's 27th season is replete with the grandeur of traditional opera.  On March 10, the company's Bring the Family to the Opera initiative resumes its special ticket rates to see and enjoy the new productions of Amilcare Ponchelli's rarely seen La Gioconda on April 17 and Giuseppe Verdi's timeless work Rigoletto on October 23.  Both operas will be presented at 3:00 p.m. at the Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC), located at 30 North Van Brunt Street, in Englewood, New Jersey. 

Love, seduction, jealousy, vengeance, and death all come together in the New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera's 2016 season presentations of grand, traditional opera at the Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC).  During 2016, Verismo Opera, the house opera company of bergenPAC, will present Amilcare Ponchielli's La Gioconda and Giuseppe Verdi's Rigoletto.

With the impending winter storm warning, the New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera (Verismo Opera) has rescheduled the New Year Open House to Saturday, January 30.  The house opera company of the Bergen Performing Arts Center (bergenPAC) will hold the annual event at the same location and time: 44 Armory Street in Englewood, New Jersey at 2:00 p.m.

Lucine Amara, Artistic Director of the New Jersey Association of Verismo Opera (Verismo Opera), invites singers to apply to the Verismo Opera Chorus.  Open auditions will be held Wednesdays, September 9 and 16 beginning at 6:15 p.m. at 44 Armory Street in Englewood, New Jersey.

TV's Dallas meets Chekhov in Richard Pearson Thomas' new comic opera 'A Wake or a Wedding,' receiving its New York premiere by Encompass New Opera Theatre, Nancy Rhodes, Artistic Director, November 6-16 at Baruch Performing Arts Center, 55 Lexington Avenue. The sophisticated farce, with music and libretto by Thomas, will be performed by an ensemble of eight superb singers starring Joy Hermalyn, whose credits include Broadway productions of Candide, Cyrano, Fiddler on the Roof, Baz Luhrmann's La Bohene, and numerous City Center Encores!, to name a few. She leads an exceptional cast who have appeared with opera companies in the U.S. and abroad. The chamber orchestra, Ionization New Music Group, will be conducted by Encompass Music Director Mara Waldman.

Approaching its 40th Anniversary, Encompass New Opera Theatre has announced the New York City premiere of the new opera A Wake or a Wedding (Deception! Madness! Butterflies!), written by the gifted American composer Richard Pearson Thomas.
