Nineteenth-century London fills the Lackland Performing Arts Center this holiday season with a brand-new adaptation of Charles Dickens' classic A Christmas Carol by Stephen Temperley.  Performances run November 27 through December 13 in the Sitnik Theatre of the Lackland Performing Arts Center at 715 Grand Ave. Hackettstown, NJ.

This special one-night-only event featured a constellation of luminaries reading selections from Shakespeare and other material, curated and hosted by the gifted writer/director Jeremy McCarter and our country's most eminent Shakespeare scholar, James Shapiro. Old Globe Erna Finci Viterbi Artistic Director Barry Edelstein introduced and directed the evening.

NYC Parks Opens Jorge Luis Rodriguez Public Artworks

NYC Parks is pleased to present a series of five temporary public art installations by artist Jorge Luis Rodríguez in Tompkins Square Park and East Harlem Art Park in Manhattan. The Oracle of the Past, Present and Future  in the East Village and Birdhouse, Fish Spine, Hummingbird and Palenque in Harlem celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Growth, Rodríguez's large-scale, permanent work that was New York City's first Percent for Art Project. A public celebration of the exhibits will take place in East Harlem Art Park on Saturday, June 20 from 12:00 p.m. through 6:00 p.m.

A spoof of classic horror films of the '30s and '40s (as seen in the 1974 movie of the same name), it is a rowdy, 'bawd-villian' frolic of the Frankenstein story in the best tradition of Borscht-Belt comedy.
