Berkeley Rep Theater Extends THE ARABIAN NIGHTS Until 1/11

Berkeley Repertory Theatre is ending the year the way it started: delighting audiences and impressing critics on both coasts with two hits here in Berkeley and another show taking New York by storm. Today ? even as Joe Turner's Come and Gone nears the end of its local run and Artistic Director Tony Taccone is Taking Over Manhattan with Danny Hoch ? the company announced an extension for its production of The Arabian Nights.

Lookingglass Theater Announces Casting For 21st Season

Lookingglass Theatre Company proudly announces casting for its 21st season, including participation from more than 25 company members. Ensemble Members Eva Barr, Mara Blumenfeld, David Catlin, Thomas Cox, Christine Mary Dunford, Laura Eason, Raymond Fox, Doug Hara, David Kersnar, John Musial, Dan Ostling, David Schwimmer, Joey Slotnick, Philip R. Smith, Heidi Stillman, Tracy Walsh, Andrew White, and Mary Zimmerman, with Artistic Associates Louise Lamson, Chris Binder, Sara Gmitter, Andre Pluess, Rick Sims, and Alison Siple and Production Affiliates Patia Bartlett, Ray Nardelli and Jonathan Templeton will participate in the season. Additional casting and company member involvement will be announced at a later date.

Mary Zimmerman Returns to Berkley Rep With 'Arabian Nights'

Next month, Tony Award-winning director Mary Zimmerman returns to Berkeley Repertory Theatre with an alluring adaptation of The Arabian Nights. This is Zimmerman's sixth trip to Berkeley Rep, and for the first time she works her magic on the intimate Thrust Stage. The Arabian Nights runs from November 13 through January 4 with the official press night on November 19.

Naked Angels Extends FAULT LINES Through 11/9

Due to demand for tickets, Naked Angels (Geoffrey Nauffts, Artistic Director and Brittany O'Neill, Managing Director) has extended the world premiere engagement of Stephen Belber's new dark comedy Fault Lines, directed by David Schwimmer. Fault Lines opened September 30, 2008 at The Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce Street). The run will now continue through November 9, 2008.

Today, the Jefferson Awards announced the winners among the 150 nominees in 35 categories for Chicago Equity theatrical productions which opened between August 1, 2007 and July 31, 2008. Beginning with this season, the Jeff Awards is acknowledging the work of Large and Midsize theatres in separate categories for productions and technical elements.

The production runs October 15- December 7, 2008 at Lookingglass Theatre Company, located inside Chicago's historic Water Tower Water Works, 821 N. Michigan Ave. at Pearson. The press opening is Saturday, October 25, 2008, at 7:30 p.m.
