According to Baz Bamigboye of The Daily Mail, Matthew Dunster will direct a new production of Sam Shepard's True West, which will preview at the Vaudeville Theatre from November 23.

CRT welcomes the co-writing team of the show, as Jack Plotnick will direct and three-time Emmy Award nominee and SiriusXM Broadway host Seth Rudetsky will reprise the role he originated on Broadway (Ted Schneider). Season 2 of Harlots Premieres Wednesday, July 11. Hulu's critically acclaimed, salacious series returns with a bang on Wednesday, July 11th for the season two premiere (debuting with two episodes, then releasing weekly). This season of Harlots dives deeper into the feuds, betrayals, and carnal connections amongst the characters, highlighting an incredibly relevant story about gender disparity and socio-economic unrest. Due to popular demand, Steppenwolf Theatre Company has extended the world premiere comedy, The Doppelganger (an international farce) written by Matthew-Lee Erlbach (Showtime's Masters of Sex, Off-Broadway's Handbook for an American Revolutionary), through June 2 with the original cast.

In honor of Rex Manning Day this Sunday, April 8, producer BILL WEINER just announced the acquisition of the theatrical stage rights to the beloved cult-hit 1995 film EMPIRE RECORDS, with plans to adapt the story for the Broadway stage as a musical. The film's original writer Carol Heikkinen(Center Stage) will adapt her screenplay for the stage, with new music and lyrics by Zoe Sarnak, the 2018 Jonathan Larson Grant winner for her upcoming musicalAfterwords. Empire Records is targeting a 2020 premiere, in celebration of the film's 25th anniversary.

Steppenwolf Theatre Company celebrates 42 seasons of innovative ensemble theatre with an evening of celebration emceed by actor Rainn Wilson, who will be starring in The Doppelganger (an international farce) at Steppenwolf this spring and is well-known for his role as "Dwight Schrute" on NBC's award-winning comedy The Office. Comedian, actor, director and producer Chris Rock, who is best known for his standup comedy and who starred in the world premiere Broadway production of The Motherf**ker with the Hat directed by Steppenwolf Artistic Director Anna D. Shapiro, will be the guest auctioneer alongside Christie's Robbie Gordy.

Amazon today announced it has acquired the global television rights to THE LORD OF THE RINGS based on the celebrated fantasy novels by J.R.R. Tolkien, with a multi-season commitment.

GUNPOWDER, a three-part thriller based on the real-life 17th century events that led to Guy Fawkes Day, will debut on HBO this December. The first episode will debut MONDAY, DEC. 18 (10:00-11:00 p.m. ET/PT), followed by the other parts the subsequent two nights TUESDAY, DEC. 19 and WEDNESDAY, DEC. 20 at the same time.

Liv Tyler has signed on to Season Two of Hulu's period drama HARLOTS. The actress most recently appeared on the small screen for three seasons on HBO's THE LEFTOVERS.
