MCC THEATER (Robert LuPone, Bernard Telsey, William Cantler, Artistic Directors; Blake West, Executive Director) has announced that Emmy® Award nominee Zachary Quinto will lead the cast of the New York premiere of Smokefall, by Noah Haidle and directed by Anne Kauffman, who directed The Nether for MCC last season to great acclaim. Smokefall continues MCC Theater's season at the Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street) with previews beginning February 4, 2016 and an opening night set for February 22. It is scheduled through March 13. Single tickets will go on sale January 5, 2016, but advanced tickets are currently available via subscription packages at www.mcctheater.org.

I was pleased to see many familiar faces last Wednesday at the Alley Theatre's performance of ONE MAN, TWO GUVNORS. It helped set the tone for the comedic and interactive performance that seemed to ask us to leave any egos at the door, relax, and sit back for a night of farcical storytelling and crass side-splitting humor. The show absolutely delivered.

One Man, Two Guvnors begins the Alley Theatre's 2015-2016 season in the newly renovated Hubbard Theatre on October 2, 2015. Winner of the Critics Circle Award and multiple Tony and Drama Desk Awards, this glorious comedy is a unique laugh-out-loud mix of satire, songs, and stupendous physical comedy. One Man, Two Guvnors, by Richard Bean is based on The Servant of Two Masters by Carlo Goldoni with songs by Grant Olding and directed by Gregory Boyd. Previews begin October 2, Opening Night October 7, with performances continuing through November 1, 2015.

Last night the Barrington Stage Company Musical Theatre Lab presented the East Coast Premiere of Nick Blaemire's A Little More Alive on the St. Germain Stage of the Sydelle & Lee Blatt Performing Arts Center and Broadwayworld was there.

Producing Artistic Director Gwendolyn Whiteside and American Blues Theater, Chicago's second oldest Equity ensemble, are proud to announce the return of the critically acclaimed It's a Wonderful Life: Live in Chicago!, on the main stage of the Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N. Lincoln Ave., November 20 - December 27. 'Pink Previews,' where tickets sales benefit the Lynn Sage Foundation for breast cancer research, play November 20 - November 22 following the regular schedule. The press/opening night performance is Wednesday, Nov. 25 at 7:30p.m. The running time is approximately 90 minutes. Barrington Stage Company, under the leadership of Artistic Director Julianne Boyd and Managing Director Tristan Wilson, announces BSC's acclaimed Musical Theatre Lab will present Nick Blaemire's new musical A Little More Alive, from July 17 through August 8 on the St. Germain Stage.  The press opening is Wednesday, July 22 at 7:30pm.
