The Metropolitan Opera Guild has announced its Lectures and Community Programs for the 2011-12 Season: an extensive - 20 events in October alone! - and wide-ranging calendar of individual events and courses of study designed to deepen the love and appreciation of opera by fans and performers alike, at every level of engagement and expertise.

The National Theatre's Laurence Olivier award-winning production of War Horse at the New London Theatre has released 140,000 new tickets for sale, taking bookings up to 16 February 2013.

Tickets are now on sale for the World Premiere production of DARK SISTERS, composed by Nico Muhly with libretto by Stephen Karam, conducted by Neal Goren, directed by Rebecca Taichman, and co-commissioned and co-produced by Gotham Chamber Opera, Music-Theatre Group and the Opera Company of Philadelphia. DARK SISTERS will premiere from November 9-19,2011 at the Gerald W. Lynch Theater at John Jay College, 899 Tenth Avenue, NYC. BroadwayWorld has confirmed that WAR HORSE, which just opened at the Vivian Beaumont Theatre last week, is gearing up for a national tour, as well as a separate sit-down Toronto production. While details on the tour have not yet been announced, the show will play Los Angeles' Ahmanson Theatre from June 13 - July 22, 2012. The Toronto production is set to open in February of 2012.

Today, 6 June, the National Theatre's award-winning production of War Horse at the New London Theatre will release over 290,000 new tickets for sale, taking bookings up to 20 October 2012.

Yesterday the horse puppets from 'War Horse' opened Lincoln Center's Illumination Lawn for the summer season. The horse puppets dazzled onlookers on the Lawn, which is a double-twisted green space that forms the roof of one of Lincoln Center's newest buildings.
