The House Theatre of Chicago once again brings holiday cheer for the whole family with its eighth annual engagement of the all-original, ballet-free The Nutcracker playing at The Chopin Theatre upstairs theatre, 1543 W. Division, November 3 December 30.

The House Theatre of Chicago, in partnership with University of Chicago's Theatre and Performance Studies Program and their Logan Center for the Arts, presents an afternoon Open House touring new works in development. Guests will have the opportunity to see short selections from five projects, and meet the creative artists spearheading them. The audience in attendance will break into small groups and tour each project in various creative spaces in the state-of-the-art Logan Center.

The House Theatre of Chicago announces the final production in their 15th season, The Great and Terrible Wizard of Oz, adapted from L. Frank Baum's book by The House Theatre Company Member Phillip Klapperich and directed and choreographed by The House Theatre Company Member Tommy Rapley, playing at the Chopin Upstairs Theatre, 1543 W. Division St., March 17 - May 7. Opening/press night is Monday, March 27 at 7 p.m. The performance schedule is Thursdays - Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., Saturday and Sunday matinees at 3 p.m. and Sunday evenings at 7 p.m. Preview tickets (evenings March 17 - March 26, no performance March 25) are $15 and regular run tickets range from $25 - $45. The show is recommended for adults and kids aged 10 and up. Same-day tickets for students and industry professionals are $15 and available for all dates, seats permitting. 'Learning Curve,' a world premiere immersive performance created by Albany Park Theater Project and Third Rail Projects, will place audiences within the walls of Ellen Gates Starr High School and in the shoes of its students. With each step audiences take through Starr High School, they will experience the real-life triumphs and struggles of Chicago public school students, teachers and parents during the years that hopefully lead to a high school diploma. Produced in partnership with Goodman Theatre, preview performances for 'Learning Curve' begin July 27; the press openings will be July 31 and August 1. Tickets go on sale June 15 for performances through August 28.
