Today, I want to introduce you to an organization I've known about for years but didn't fully understand until I learned about it through -- what else -- Twitter. It's simultaneously one of the most visible theatrical organizations, and yet one whose scope is seldom fully grasped. I'm talking about the American Theatre Wing, best known as the creator and managing organization of the Tony Awards. But you may not know how much else they do for the theatrical arts, in New York and beyond.

BWW just recently launched a photo store to benefit BC/EFA featuring stunning images of Broadway's brightest stars. The unique feature gives readers a chance to purchase prints of our photos since the web site launched back in 2003. Previously only available at BC/EFA's Flea Markets, where we often sold out of images, we're now making a selection of photos available for purchase online and just like at the Flea Market, a portion of all proceeds will go straight to BC/EFA.

The Broadway community mourns the loss of Romulus Linney and Ellen Stewart, who both recently died at the ages of 80 and 91 respectively. The marquees of Broadway theatres in New York will be dimmed in their memory on Wednesday, January 19th, at exactly 8:00pm for one minute.
