The Schimmel Centerpresents Grammy Award winning singer-songwriter and guitaristTom Chapin in a collaborative performance with his daughters, Lily and Abigail—The Chapin Sisters—on Friday, April 20, 2018 at 7:30 p.m. The concert features original and traditional songs by the acclaimed family roots group including “Cat's In The Cradle,” “Remember When The Music,” and “Circle” by Harry Chapin, as well as “Pass The Music On,” and “This Pretty Planet” by Tom Chapin.

Chris Van Cleave and friends from the cast of Sierra Rep's Mark Twain's A Murder, A Mystery and A Marriage will present an evening of acoustic music at the Fallon House Theatre on Monday, October 13 at 7 p.m. Van Cleave returns to the Sonora, Columbia area after visiting his grandmother here in 1973. He will premier a new song inspired by that memory at his concert, which will also feature eclectic styles of music, from light rock to country to folk. Jennifer Beals' shoulder-baring 'Maniac' is as 80's iconic as boom boxes, MTV, and Madonna, and much to the delight of a nearly full house at the Palace Theater last night, 'Flashdance: The Musical' had all of the above, with legwarmers, spiral permed hair, and some pretty impressive talent to boot.

What do The Beatles, Tony Bennett, the Rolling Stones, Fats Domino, Tito Puente, Judy Garland and a host of other luminaries have in common? They all have been touched, in some way, by the inimitable promoter, agent and manager extraordinaire, Sid Bernstein. Mr. Bernstein passed away on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 in New York City, said his longtime friend, publicist Merle Frimark.
