Today we continue the 2014 edition of our annual BroadwayWorld feature series spotlighting the very best Tony Awards-related moments of all time with a special spotlight on an American classic just announced to be coming in a live production broadcast on NBC next year, THE MUSIC MAN!

Rehearsals begin today for The Life of the Party - A Celebration of the Songs of Andrew Lippa, a spectacular evening with one of Broadway's most exciting composers and lyricists with David Babani, Artistic Director of the Chocolate Factory, directing alongside an Olivier Award winning creative team. Lynne Page - Choreography, Gareth Owen - Sound Design, Tim Lutkin - Lighting Design and Morgan Large - Set and Costume Design.

Craig Zadan and Neil Meron, who were behind NBC's Sound of Music, may be on tap to head up the Meredith Wilson classic.

Kristin Chenoweth and Anne L. Nathan stopped by Buyer and Cellar this weekend to see star Christopher J. Hanke in the smash hit show and the trio had a lot to tweet about afterwards:

THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY team just Tweeted a photo of Broadway vet Kristin Chenoweth visiting star Kelli O'Hara backstage at the show on May 8, along with the caption: 'It was amazing having @KChenoweth with us last night!' and followed it up with a photo of Debra Messing, Will Chase and Michael McKean also schmoozing with O'Hara after the performance. Ryan Murphy was asked by one of his many Twitter followers if Chenoweth's character would be returning for next year's sixth and final season of the musical dramedy.

Goodspeed Musicals is delighted to announce that Tony, Grammy and Pulitzer Prize winner Sheldon Harnick will be the latest recipient of The Goodspeed Award for Outstanding Contribution to Musical Theatre. Over the years Mr. Harnick's work has been represented on the Goodspeed stage with Fiorello! (1985), She Loves Me (1978), The Apple Tree (1999), and this summer's 50th Anniversary production of Fiddler on the Roof at the Goodspeed Opera House. The award will be presented by longtime friend and star of stage and screen, two time Tony Award-winner Tony Roberts (Broadway's Promises, Promises; They're Playing Our Song; Victor/Victoria; Cabaret).

The New Jersey Symphony Orchestra (NJSO) and New Jersey Performing Arts Center (NJPAC) present Bell & Lacombe, a one-performance-only program tonight, May 9, at 8 pm in NJPAC's Prudential Hall. The Grammy Award-winning violinist performs Sibelius' Violin Concerto and Ravel's Tzigane on a program that includes Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet Fantasy-Overture and Grieg's Peer Gynt Suite No. 1. NJSO Music Director Jacques Lacombe conducts.

The 2014 Clarence Derwent Award for most promising female and male performers on the New York metropolitan scene has gone to Whitney Bashor and Steven Boyer. The announcement was made by Arne Gundersen, president of the Actors' Equity Foundation, which administers the award.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Channing Tatum is set to star in and produce an upcoming, untitled true crime thriller for Sony. Craig Zadan and Neil Meron are on board to produce with Reid Carolin. Kristin Gore will pen the script.

Recently partnering with the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center Foundation, Broadway's Kristin Chenoweth recently focused her philanthropy efforts to support fine arts and community relations in Broken Arrow, establishing the Kristin Chenoweth Fund for Arts and Education. Her first venture for the program was to help raise money for Broken Arrow Public Schools students to receive the opportunity of a lifetime. More than 200 fine arts students just travelled to New York City to share their talents with the world at the legendary Carnegie Hall.

Saturday night, May 3rd, after Kristin Chenoweth wowed 'em at Carnegie Hall, the star's family, friends and guests were invited to a very intimate party at New York's Palace Hotel. The famed property threw Ms. Chenoweth the congratulatory party with the Palace Hotel's Timothy Kirkpatrick, Bebhinn Gallen, Lauren Rebholz and friend Angelique O'Neil, who worked tirelessly to make her special night even more special.
