Award-winning theatre companies Circus Theatricals and Not Man Apart Physical Theatre Ensemble join forces to co-produce Titus Redux: an adrenaline-fueled adaptation of William Shakespeare's Titus Andronicus. Written, conceived, and choreographed by Not Man Apart's John Farmanesh-Bocca, Titus Redux features a seven-member ensemble, including Circus Theatricals' Jack Stehlin as Titus, three time Emmy Award winner Jenn Landon as Lavinia, and John Farmanesh-Bocca as Arron. East West Players (EWP), the nation's premier Asian American theatre, opens its 45th Anniversary season, themed Shake It Up, with the Los Angeles premiere of MYSTERIOUS SKIN by Prince Gomolvilas, based on the novel by Scott Heim. This production will be directed by EWP's Producing Artistic Director, Tim Dang. The cast of the production will feature artists with diverse backgrounds: David Huynh, Scott Keiji Takeda, Marcus Choi, Christine Corpuz, Ruffy Landayan, and Elizabeth Liang. (more...)

With the tough beauty of her writing and the fierce authenticity of her characters, Pulitzer Prize finalist and Obie Award-winning playwright Dael Orlandersmith will bring two of her works to Los Angeles in July and August, the West Coast premiere of her solo performance piece 'Stoop Stories' and the world premiere of her new play 'Bones.' Los Angeles's Antaeus Company to Present Double-Cast KING LEAR, 6/26-8/8

The Antaeus Company, Los Angeles's classical theater ensemble, will open ClassicsFest 2010 with King Lear, its first full production of a Shakespeare play. Bart DeLorenzo will direct King Lear with renowned scholar, actor, and Antaeus founding artistic director Dakin Matthews and Broadway veteran/three-time Tony nominee Harry Groener heading two fully double-cast ensembles. Two gala openings, one with each cast, will take place on Saturday, June 26 at 8 pm and Sunday, June 27 at 4 pm, with performances continuing through August 8 at Antaeus' interim home, Deaf West Theatre in the NoHo Arts District. This new solo show with original music, written and performed by Norman P. Dixon, will play one preview performance on Friday, August 6 at 8pm and is set to open at the NoHo Arts Center on Saturday, August 7 at 8pm. The engagement will run through Sunday, September 12 only.
