In an attempt to prove that Washington, D.C. isn't the only town that rewards malfeasance, Center Theatre Group is celebrating Los Angelenos' wrong-doings and missteps by asking all residents to search their consciences for the worst things that they have ever done, and submit said misdeeds now through December 23 to win a package of prizes. The holiday prize pack includes two tickets to see The Second City's "A Christmas Carol: Twist Your Dickens!" at the Kirk Douglas Theatre, a gift certificate to the local restaurant Ugo Culver City and all the Tiny Timtinis and Scrooge Drivers you can drink **. Vocalist Peggy King--one of the few, certifiable stars of stage, screen, television and nightclubs still performing today-is returning to New York City for the first time in several decades, along with the charismatically swinging All-Star Jazz Trio. Lester Bangs, the rock critic who reached iconic status in the 1970s with his passionate, intellectually honest writing, is the subject of "How to be a Rock Critic," presented in a staged reading as part of DouglasPlus at Center Theatre Group's Kirk Douglas Theatre, Sunday, December 15 at 1 p.m. The reading will take place in the Douglas' rehearsal space, Upstairs@KDT.

Center Theatre Group and The Second City are assembling a collection of special guests to drop in to the Kirk Douglas Theatre for a surprise cameo appearance in The Second City's 'A Christmas Carol: Twist Your Dickens!'

Kirk Douglas, Debbie Reynolds, George Chakiris, Carol Channing, Rip Taylor, Florence Henderson, Michael Learned and more, offer encouragement to Senior Star Power Productions, as they embark on a mission to establish a year-round theatrical performing arts complex for seniors.

The lemon room @ ZajacStudio is delighted to welcome Lena Hill as she makes her cabaret debut accompanied by LA favorite musical director Cassie Nickols. The evening includes tunes ranging from the legit standards of Rogers & Hammerstein to the newest showstoppers from recent Broadway seasons. This diverse set of songs gives Lena a chance to show a voice that has no limits, a shimmery and vibrant head voice to a belt that could peel paint off the walls!

Julie Taymor, the Oscar and Tony Award-winning director of film, theatre and opera comes to 92Y tonight, November 17 to talk about her work in a conversation moderated by actor Harry Lennix, who received a Golden Satellite Award in Taymor's Titus.

Set in a garage in suburban Long Island, THE BLACK SUITS tells the tale of four boys (lead singer, guitar, bass and drums) who are preparing for stardom by way of the St. Anne's Battle of the Bands. The band and the music give focus and sustenance to the boys whose lives are filled with teenage angst and longing, struggles with friends and girlfriends, and the need to make choices.

Pulitzer Prize finalist and Obie, Guggenheim and PEN Award-winning playwright and performer Dael Orlandersmith is returning to the Kirk Douglas Theatre for a staged reading of her newest CTG-commissioned piece, 'Forever,' on November 11, 2013, at 8 p.m. Directed by Neel Keller, 'Forever' is a part of DouglasPlus programming and will play for one night only.

The world premiere of 'The Black Suits,' began previews October 27 at the Center Theatre Group/Kirk DouglasTheatre in Culver City. Performances run through November 24, 2013. Casting has been announced for The Second City's 'A Christmas Carol: Twist Your Dickens!' which begins previews December 8 at the Center Theatre Group/Kirk Douglas Theatre in Culver City. Opening night is December 12 and performances run through December 29, 2013.

Top Chef's Tom Colicchio, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith, The Roots' Captain Kirk Douglas and former Saturday Night Live bandleader G.E. Smith are among the celebrities slated to join over 150 guitarists in a massive six-string symphony benefitting music in education programs.

Leading the pack with 12 was Center Theatre Group (seven for The Nether at the Kirk Douglas Theatre; three for Joe Turner's Come and Gone at the Mark Taper Forum; one for The Scottsboro Boys at the Ahmanson Theatre; and one for The Royale at the Kirk Douglas Theatre). CTG was followed by 3-D Theatricals with five awards (four for Parade and one for Shrek the Musical). The Chance Theater and La Mirada Theatre for the Performing Arts took home three awards each (including Best Season for La Mirada); Circle X Theatre Company, the Fountain Theatre, and the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble tied with two each.
