Atlantic Theater Company (Neil Pepe, Artistic Director; Jeffory Lawson, Managing Director)'s world premiere adaptation of THE NEW YORK IDEA by Tony Award® winner David Auburn, opened last night. Directed by Mark Brokaw, the new adaptation of the 1906 comedy by Langdon Mitchell commissioned by Atlantic, will play through Saturday, February 26 after announcing an extension at The Lucille Lortel Theatre while Atlantic's Linda Gross Theater undergoes renovation. Olympia Dukakis, the Academy Award-winning actress who is currently starring in Roundabout's THE MILK TRAIN DOESN'T STOP HERE ANYMORE will appear for a reading of Brooklyn Story with the book's author, Suzanne Corso, at the Borders at Columbus Circle. The date replaces the originally announced January 30th.

This new musical, created by a team of Tony winners, features a book by Terrence McNally, music by Marc Shaiman, lyrics by Scott Wittman and Marc Shaiman, choreography by Jerry Mitchell and is directed by Jack O'Brien.
