On Monday, August 15, the Theater People podcast welcomes three-time Tony-winning producer Kevin McCollum. Best known for producing Broadway mega-hits RENT, AVENUE Q, and, IN THE HEIGHTS, McCollum is also know for taking chances on smaller shows and shepherding them to Broadway. He brought THE DROWSY CHAPERONE to Broadway in 2006--it would go on to win five Tony Awards--and [TITLE OF SHOW] to Broadway in 2009.

Tickets are now on sale for the 2nd-annual Voices for the Voiceless: Stars for Foster Kids concert on Monday, September 12th at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. This special event, presented by Beachbody.com, Seth Rudetsky and James Wesley, brings together the brightest stars of stage and screen to raise awareness about the plight of kids in foster care, particularly those aged 13 to 21 whom many consider "unadoptable" because of their age.

Based upon the 2007 motion picture written by Adrienne Shelly, Waitress began performances on March 25 and opened April 24 at Broadway's Brooks Atkinson Theatre (256 West 47th Street). Since then it has welcomed plenty of special guests, and over the weekend, original Dr. Pomatter Nathan Fillion stopped by. Check out photos below!

I remember the first time I heard Songs For a New World. Mind. Blown. Melodic like Andrew Lloyd Webber, cerebral like Sondheim. Perfect. Of course now, Jason Robert Brown is a living legend and one of the most prolific theatre composers in history.

From Broadway With Love: A Benefit Concert for Orlando brought together some of Broadway's biggest stars last night to support the GLBT Community Center of Central Florida, Hope and Help Center and Zebra Coalition. The benefit concert, which sold out within two hours of tickets going on-sale, took place at Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.

Following the tragic event that took place at Pulse nightclub in Orlando on June 12, the Broadway and Orlando theatre communities will unite tonight, Monday, July 25 at 7:30 pm at the Disney Theatre in the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts to perform FROM BROADWAY WITH LOVE: A BENEFIT CONCERT FOR ORLANDO; a healing night of music and dance to honor the 49 victims.

On Friday, July 22, the Theater People podcast welcomes Broadway favorites Emily Skinner and Alice Ripley. Skinner and Ripley first worked together when they were cast as Daisy and Violet Hilton in the 1998 production of SIDE SHOW. The pair reunited on stage in 2000 in the Broadway production of JAMES JOYCE'S THE DEAD.
