Retreat to Broadway Launches Arts Education Initiative Focused on HAIRSPRAY

Retreat to Broadway, a national non-profit project that pairs innovative programming with live theater, is launching their first national arts education initiative and they're focusing on the Tony Award winning musical HAIRSPRAY. Not only does Retreat to Broadway want to help increase viewership for NBC's national telecast of HAIRSPRAY LIVE! on December 7, but they also want to provide a unique framework to discuss the important themes HAIRSPRAY presents its audiences: celebrating differences, cultural diversity, bullying, body shaming, conflict resolution, acceptance of self and others, etc.
Broadway Vets Set for Benefit Concert at El Portal Theater This Week

This Thursday, June 9th at the El Portal Theater in North Hollywood, an elite cast of Broadway veterans will take to the stage for a one-night only benefit concert performing numbers from the award-winning Broadway shows that put them on the map. 100% of the proceeds from this stellar night of song and dance will benefit the Hope of the Valley Rescue Mission. Panera Bread has graciously come on board to sponsor the evening. Currently in rehearsals, the cast of over 50 Broadway performers, ensemble singers, and dancers is prepping for what is sure to be a thrilling night of theatre in Los Angeles.

Feinstein's/54 BELOW, Broadway's Supper Club, will present "FOOTLOOSE-In Concert" on Tuesday, January 12, 2016. Kick off your Sunday shoes for this one night only event! Based on the 1984 film, Footloose received four Tony Award nominations during its almost two year run in Broadway's Richard Rodgers Theatre. "Sing Me Home" is a new musical set to premiere at the prestigious New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) on July 20th but Los Angeles had the honor of hosting its debut at Rockwell on Sunday, July 13th. Featuring a variety of performers, each song was introduced by writing team, Amber Cassell or author/singer/songwriter Kristy Hanson who penned all 13 songs.
