Theatreworks USA presents the Off-Broadway premiere of the new children's musical SKIPPYJON JONES, the featured production of its 24th Annual Free Summer Theatre Program. SKIPPYJON JONES began performances on Tuesday, July 17, 2012 at Off-Broadway's Lucille Lortel Theatre (121 Christopher Street). Performances continue through Friday, August 17, 2012. On The Today Show July 12, Broadway's Jenny Powers sang Kathie Lee Gifford and David Friedman's most recent collaboration, 'You Do The Impossible,' on the 'Everyone Has a Story' segment honoring triathlete and cancer survivor Molli Serrano. Showbiz411 reports that viewers may soon see talk show co-hosts Regis Philbin and Kathie Lee Gifford team up for the final hour of NBC's 'Today.' Philbin recently filled in for vacationing co-host Hoda Kotb on the show.

According to an Equity casting notice, Kathie Lee Gifford, David Friedman and David Pomeranz new musical, THE AIMEE PROJECT will open on Broadway sometime this fall at a theater to be announced. According to the notice, David Armstrong will helm, alongside Joel Fram as the musical director and Lorin Latarro as the choreographer. Rehearsals are listed as beginning in September of 2012.
