Following a worldwide search for the most outstanding young talents in six artistic disciplines, Rolex today announced the finalists of the fifth cycle of its international arts programme, the Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative.

Frances McDormand, Maura Tierney, and more will be joining the cast of Los Angeles based Redcat's production of NORTH ATLANTIC. Written by James Strah, the production will run February 10th through 21st and is directed by Elizabeth LeCompte. The cast will include McDormand, Ari Fliakos, Scott Shepherd, Kate Valk, Steve Cuiffo, Koosil-ja Hwang, Paul Lazar, Zachary Oberzan, Jenny Seastone-Stern and Tierney.

O'Neill Exploration Is A Success, Attendance Over 50,000

Three countries, six theater companies, fourteen plays and programs, sixty-one days and an audience numbering nearly 50,000 defined 'A Global Exploration: Eugene O'Neill in the 21st Century' and marked an unprecedented success for Goodman Theatre. Artistic Director Robert Falls curated the ambitious eight-play selection of O'Neill's early works that appeared on both of the Goodman's stages January 7 - March 8: the 856-Albert and the 400-seat flexible Owen, which was transformed seven times, custom-designed for the visiting companies. The Exploration offerings performed at a grand total of 90% of capacity-alone, Falls' Broadway-bound production of Desire Under the Elms achieved 95% of capacity.

With text inspired by As I Lay Dying, CHUCK.CHUCK.CHUCK. is a collage of spoken word, video, music and dance. An investigation of dislocation, failure and loss, the piece follows the family members of Addie Bundren as they decide to leave their home to fulfill her dying wish - to be returned to her birthplace for burial. CHUCK.CHUCK.CHUCK. charts their arduous journey and examines crises of family and faith.
