Hands down, this incredibly absorbing stage adaptation of MOBY DICK is one of the most stunning and enthralling pieces of theater I have had the privilege of experiencing from a Southern California stage. Continuing through February 19 at Orange County's Tony Award-winning regional theater in Costa Mesa, this highly creative and mesmerizing play---adapted and directed by David Catlin---is a production from Chicago's highly regarded Lookingglass Theatre Company, who also produced similar successful runs of this adaptation at the Alliance Theatre in Atlanta and the Arena Stage in Washington D.C.

Lookingglass Theatre Company announces casting for the final two shows of its 2016-2017 season, including the U.S. Premiere of Beyond Caring, written and directed by Alexander Zeldin in association with Dark Harbor Stories, a company led by Ensemble Member David Schwimmer and Tom Hodges, as well as the remount of the Jeff Award-winning Moby Dick, adapted from the novel by Herman Melville and directed by Ensemble Member David Catlin.

Whether you enjoyed or avoided Moby Dick in high school, Lookingglass Theatre Company's acclaimed stage adaptation will take your breath away. The LIVINGroom and Producing Artistic Director Laura Reitsma announce their 2017 season at Stage 773. Performances will take place over three Sundays during March, May, August, and November 2017. Theatre, like most things in life, can become the subject of repetition and become very boring. MOBY DICK at the Alliance Theatre is not an example of this, however. Starting in Chicago at the Tony Award-winning Lookingglass Theatre, this innovative, artistic work of art is not quite what you would expect. The Trap Door Theatre presents Fantasy Island For Dummies (low cut daydream too near, too near), written by Ruth Margraff and directed by Kate Hendrickson, with original music composed by Nikos Brisco. The production opens Today, September 29, 2016 at 8 p.m. and runs through Saturday, November 5, 2016.

Fantasy Island for Dummies (low cut daydream too near, too near) is a new music-theatre work inspired by an episode of the iconic television series about the pleasures and perils of wish fulfillment. Devised in a collaborative exploration with Trap Door Theater actors, the piece is written by Ruth Margraff and directed by Kate Hendrickson, with original music composed by Pink Velvet. A 1980 "Fantasy Island" episode about a ventriloquist and her devious dummy inspires a voyage into suppressed identities, ancient Babylonian sex goddesses, and a "perfect wife" struggling with her defiant side.

?Due to an overwhelming positive response from audiences, the swashbuckling adventure, Treasure Island, will continue to set sail on the Hispaniola at Berkeley Rep. The theatre has announced that the latest adventure from Mary Zimmerman will extend for an additional two weeks. Originally scheduled to close on June 5, the critically acclaimed play will run through Sunday, June 19. Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the West Coast premiere of Treasure Island by Tony Award-winning director Mary Zimmerman. Critically praised as "nothing short of sublime" (Chicago-Sun Times), and "Zimmerman remains a superior storyteller " (Chicago Tribune), Treasure Island, a co-production with Chicago's Lookingglass Theatre Company, is a glorious adaptation of Robert Louis Stevenson's most beloved novel.
