Newsies forever, second to none! Disney Theatrical Productions, along with former Newsies cast members Jack Sippel, Tommy Bracco, Iain Young, and Jordan Samuels, have just announced that the live Fathom production of Newsies will be released digitally on May 23 in a special video below!

On this day in 2012, the cult hit film turned stage musical phenomenon, Newsies, based opened on Broadway at the Nederlander Theatre. 

Last weekend, a company of Broadway favorites gathered at Feinstein's/54 Below for '54 Sings One-Hit Wonders,' a concert celebrating those pop songs you can sing every lyric to but don't know anything else by that artist/group. Yesterday, March 8th was International Women's Day. While many celebrated and demonstrated for women's rights around the world with 'A Day Without A Woman,' ladies on Broadway (in the midst of a two show day) joined activist group Broadway Strong to show their support in a special way.

On Sunday, March 19th, a company of Broadway favorites will gather at Feinstein's/54 Below for 54 Sings One-Hit Wonders, a concert celebrating those pop songs you can sing every lyric to but don't know anything else by that artist/group.

'Disney's Newsies: The Broadway Musical!' three-day cinema event broke ticketing records to become the highest-grossing Broadway event to date from Fathom Events. An estimated 210,250 people saw the event on big screens across the U.S. on February 16, 18 and 22, amounting to $3.47 million in ticket sales. It also now ranks as the No. 2 top-performing title for Fathom Events to-date.

Christopher Gattelli, the Tony-winning choreographer, is practically jumping with joy over the success of ''Disney's Newsies: The Broadway Musical!'' and its giant leap to the big screen. Its three-day screenings (Feb. 16, 18 and 22) broke records to become the highest-grossing Broadway event from Fathom Events. And now ''Disney's Newsies'' will return for an encore showing on Saturday, March 4, at 12:55 p.m.
