Hollywood Sheet Music, an essential source of material for working performers, has reopened. The popular business was forced in 2009 to close its doors due to the economy, but customer demand has resulted in a move online. Now, the store has once again opened its doors at 1033 N. Adapted from a book-length poem about the Roaring Twenties, The Wild Party tells the story of one wild evening in the Manhattan apartment shared by a vaudeville dancer and a vaudeville clown. In a relationship marked by vicious behavior and recklessness, they decide to throw a party to end all parties. The Wild Party won the 2000 Drama Desk Award and Outer Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Musical. The Tony-nominated Mr. Lippa is the Composer-in-Residence at Texas State.

Kaitlin Hopkins, currently on tour with the pre-Broadway tour of Dirty Dancing, has been named Head of Musical Theatre at Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas according to John Fleming, Chair of the Department of Theatre and Dance at Texas State. Her husband, Jim Price, will also be joining her on the faculty.

Daily Variety is reporting that the international stage hit Dirty Dancing - The Classic Story On Stage could be making itself a home on Broadway at the Neil Simon Theatre after current resident Hairspray takes its final bow. While no official plans have been confirmed, inside word is that 'Dancing' looks to be eyeing the space for it's Rialto bow. There is no word on an exact date for a Broadway opening, but insiders predict a Fall 2009 start for the film to stage tuner.
