This April, legendary songwriter Ervin Drake will turn 95. A Long Island Music Hall of Fame Inductee, Mr. Drake has written some of the American Songbook's most beloved classics, including: 'It Was a Very Good Year,' 'I Believe,' 'Tico Tico,' 'Quando Quando Quando,' 'Perdito' and 'Good Morning, Heartache.' 2014 also marks the 50th anniversary of the Broadway production of Drake's 'What Makes Sammy Run' (starring Steve Lawrence), which featured songs 'A Room Without Windows' and 'The Friendliest Thing.' On Friday, April 25 at 8 pm, Producer Sandi Durell, Musical Director Jon Weber, and Host Charles Grodin will lead a tribute to Ervin's illustrious career that will feature a star-studded cast of musical theater and cabaret stars

Back from a SRO concert in San Miguel de Allende in Mexico where she performed More Rules of the Road at the Angela Perlata Theater and Opera House, Baby Jane Dexter returns to Metropolitan Room for two performances of that hit show on Friday, April 18 and Friday April 25.

The Amanda McBroom Project, conceived and directed by Eric Michael Gillett and Arthur Masella, with musical direction by Jeff Cubeta is playing at The Laurie Beechman Theatre for 3 nights only, March 14th, 15th & 17th. Starring in the production are, Karen Akers, Aisha de Haas, Terese Genecco, Mandy Gonzalez, Carolyn Montgomery-Forant and Kt Sullivan. Theater for the New City, Crystal Field, Executive Director presents Nicholas Nickleby, A New Musical based on the classic Charles Dickens novel with book by Robert Sickinger, music and lyrics by Alaric Jans. Urban Stages Founding Artistic Director Frances Hill and producer Peter Napolitano present the World Premiere of Character Man as part of its 30th Anniversary season. Jim Brochu's new musical memoir just opened Off-Broadway at Urban Stages Theatre (259 West 30th Street) Wednesday March 5th. This limited run, in previews now, will continue through March 30th only. Robert Bartley directs, with musical direction by Carl Haan. Character Man will have scenic & video design by Patrick Brennan, lighting design by Meghan Santelli and sound design by Sean Hagerty. UnsungMusicalsCo. (UMC) has announced complete casting for Unsung Carolyn Leigh, a special concert produced for Lincoln Center's American Songbook at the Stanley H.
