Steppenwolf Theatre Company and ensemble member Tracy Letts, Pulitzer Prize- and Tony Award-winning playwright ofAugust: Osage County, will host Juliette Lewis, Margo Martindale and Julianne Nicholson as the guests of honor at the fifth annual Steppenwolf Salutes Women in the Arts fundraising luncheon on Monday, December 9, 2013 at 12 noon (location TBD). All three of these dynamic women are featured in Letts's highly anticipated film adaptation of August: Osage County. This year's event will featured a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the film, in addition to an insightful conversation with Lewis, Martindale and Nicholson, moderated by Letts in a format similar to Inside the Actors Studio. Previous honorees at Steppenwolf Salutes Women in the Arts include ensemble members Joan Allen and Martha Plimpton, Julianna Margulies and Mary-Louise Parker.

Highlights this week include BARE's return to LA, Sutton Foster's return to Cafe Carlyle, and Broadway Sings Amy Winehouse!

Sundance Channel announced today the cast and start of production for its gripping new original scripted series THE RED ROAD.

John Wells' AUGUST: OSAGE COUNTY, the film adaptation of Tracy Lett's Tony Award-winning play, will make its world premiere at the 2013 Toronto International Film Festival, TIFF organizers announced this morning.

Sundance Channel's new drama series The Descendants will co-star Julianne Nicholson, according to Deadline.com. It has been picked up for six one-hour episodes and hails from acclaimed writer Aaron Guzikowski (Contraband, Prisoners) and veteran producer Sarah Condon (Bored to Death).

Signature Theatre (James Houghton, Founding Artistic Director; Erika Mallin, Executive Director) welcomes Claire van der Boom (HBO's "The Pacific" & CBS' "Hawaii Five-0") to the cast of Sam Shepard's HEARTLESS, directed by Daniel Aukin. Claire van der Boom will play the role of 'Sally', replacing Julianne Nicholson whose prior commitments prevent her from performing during the two week extension through Sunday, September 30. HEARTLESS is now playing in The Irene Diamond Stage at The Pershing Square Signature Center (480 West 42nd Street between 9th and 10th Avenues). Tickets during the extension weeks are $75 each.
