Second Stage Theatre will present the New York premiere of Rajiv Joseph's (Bengal Tiger at the Baghdad Zoo) Gruesome Playground Injuries featuring Pablo Schreiber and Jennifer Carpenter in 2011, the New York Times reveals today. Scott Ellis will direct. Preview will begin on January 5, 2011, with an opening night scheduled for January 31, 2011.

Jacob's Pillow Dance announces the conclusion of an artistically and fiscally successful Festival, complete with record-breaking attendance numbers and increased ticketed income. Executive Director Ella Baff maintained her continued commitment to presenting work that challenges and excites audiences, presenting diverse dance artists, world premieres, U.S. debuts, live music, and exclusive programs from around the globe. Fifty-three dance companies and more than 400 dance artists from Australia, Canada, the Republic of Georgia, India, Israel, Thailand, Spain, Sweden, and across the United States participated in the 78th season. This year, Jacob's Pillow hosted more than 89,000 free and ticketed visitor experiences, the highest visitor experience numbers in Pillow history.

Second Stage Theatre (Carole Rothman, Artistic Director) has announced that Zach Braff, Bobby Cannavale, Sutton Foster, and Ari Graynor will co-star in the world premiere comedy TRUST, written by Paul Weitz, directed by Peter DuBois. Mr. Weitz returns to Second Stage Theatre, where his plays Privilege and Show People premiered in 2005 and 2006, respectively. Directed by Peter DuBois, who staged Second Stage's acclaimed production of Becky Shaw, TRUST will begin previews on Friday, July 23 at Second Stage Theatre (305 West 43rd street) and officially open on Thursday, August 12. The production runs through September 5.

Australian choreographer Lucy Guerin explores a life-altering event through contemporary dance in Structure and Sadness, an evening-length work being performed at Jacob's Pillow, America's premier dance festival, August 18-22. Guerin has created a unique movement vocabulary inspired by basic engineering principles which she uses to reference the 1970 collapse of Melbourne's West Gate Bridge. Lighting and set designers Ben Cobham and Andrew Livingston have collaborated with visual artist Michaela French to create an onstage environment that is both arresting and interactive. The dancers of Lucy Guerin Inc move through the intricately constructed architecture of their surroundings to an original electronic score by Gerald Mair.
