Clinton The Musical has found its Bills. Yes, Bills plural - it takes two actors to play the larger than life 42nd President of The United States. Playing President 'WJ' Clinton is Tom Galantich (Tail! Spin!, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels) and Duke Lafoon (MONICA! The Musical, A Wonderful Life) will take on the role of 'Billy' Clinton. Additional casting includesJohn Treacy Egan (Nice Work if you Can Get It, Sister Act) as Newt Gingrich, Veronica Kuehn(Mamma Mia!, Avenue Q) as Monica Lewinsky, Kevin Zak (Silence! The Musical, My Life is a Musical) as Kenneth Starr with Kara Guy (National Tour: Footloose), Dale Hensley (La Cage aux Folles, The Drowsy Chaperone), Rob Richardson (Jekyll & Hyde, A Tale of Two Cities), and Gretchen Wylder(Bedbugs!!!, Til Divorce Do Us Part). They will join the previously announced Tony nominee, Kerry Butler as Hillary Clinton and Emmy Award winner, Judy Gold as Eleanor Roosevelt.

Today, over 175 comedy and variety writers have signed a petition urging ITV to enter a collective bargaining agreement to protect its nonfiction writer-producers, including those set for the 10 ordered episodes of NBC's Neil Patrick Harris' variety show announced back in October.

For 60 continuous hours, from 7pm on Thursday January 1 to 7am on Sunday January 4, New York's Metropolitan Room is staging what it is billing as "The Longest Variety Show Ever." Featuring approximately 160 performers and 15 emcees, the entertainment will span music, burlesque, comedy, drag, theatre/opera, magic and puppetry.

In a much heralded return engagement, The COPA Palm Spings presents Chicago music and comedy legends Amy Armstrong and Freddy Allen for two performances, December 27 at 8:00 pm and December 28 at 7:30 pm in very special holiday show. Amy and Freddy have graced the stages coast-to-coast, in venues both large and small, and in over 20 countries with their one-of-a-kind wit and musical prowess. They have had the pleasure of opening and sharing the spotlight with Kathy Griffin, Mary Wilson and the Supremes, Phyllis Diller, Bea Arthur, Jennifer Holiday andJudy Gold, to name a few. In 2009, Amy & Freddy were featured on national television on Entertainment Tonight as part of their work with the NBC reality show 'America's Got Talent. They are also the proud multi-recipients of both the Gay Chicago Magazine 'After Dark' and Chicago Free Press 'Pressie' awards. I had the chance to chat with Amy and Freddy prior to their sell-out July performances at The Copa and I thought is was worth sharing again - here are a few excerpts from that conversation:

ME, MY MOUTH AND I - a new solo play written and performed by Joy Behar held its world-premiere production at Cherry Lane Theatre (38 Commerce St.) this fall, and opened on Sunday, November 23. The production will play a limited 7-week engagement through December 21.
