Allison Blei took a leap of faith when she decided to step away from her career as a financial analyst to join the circus – leaving behind her spreadsheets to become an aerialist with a flying trapeze act and to tour the country.

 Following the murder of George Floyd in 2020, the Minnesota Orchestra approached nationally renowned composer Carlos Simon to commission a new work that would honor the ongoing struggle for racial justice in Minnesota and beyond.

Among the members who signed the statement of support for the CROWN Act are Audra McDonald, Sheryl Lee Ralph, Kerry Washington, and dozens of other performers. Jonathan Taylor Productions announces Jean-Paul Sartre's The Respectable Prostitute directed by Lisa Forrell. The production opens at The Playground Theatre on 21 May, with previews from 20 May, and runs until 6 June.

The Playground Theatre has announced its early Summer season with three very different shows, traveling from ancient Greece, to 1940s America, to 1980s Paris. The season opens with Fragments, which pieces together a long-lost Euripides play from pieces of papyrus, followed by The Respectable Prostitute, where powerful people spread false truths for their personal ambition and closes with Blue Electric directed by Hugh Hudson, who directed the 1981 film Chariots of Fire.

The first London production in nearly 75 years of Welsh playwright Emlyn Williams' The Wind of Heaven opens at the Finborough Theatre for a four-week Christmas season on Tuesday, 26 November 2019 (Press Nights: Thursday, 28 November 2019 and Friday, 29 November 2019 at 7.30pm).

Motown Gospel/Capitol CMG announces the signing of breakout artist Jonathan Traylor to an exclusive recording agreement. The emerging singer/songwriter has also entered into an exclusive songwriting agreement with Capitol CMG's market-leading publishing company.

Doug Nevin and Michael Urie, in partnership with Rattlestick Playwrights Theater presented a reading of Jonathan Tolins' The Last Sunday in June on June 23rd as part of Pride Plays, a festival of play readings commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater in New York.
