Nikki M. James & More Lead LCT3's New Musical PRELUDES, Opening Tonight

Eisa Davis, Gabriel Ebert, Nikki M. James, Joseph Keckler, Chris Sarandon, and Or Matias, on piano, lead LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater production of PRELUDES, a new musical by Dave Malloy, inspired by the music of Sergei Rachmaninov, developed with and directed by Rachel Chavkin. PRELUDES, a world premiere and the first musical to be produced by LCT3 in the Claire Tow Theater, began performances on May 23 and opens tonight, June 15, running through Sunday, July 19 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65th Street).
A.R.T. Wins Seven 2015 Elliot Norton Awards

The A.R.T. won seven Elliot Norton Awards given by the Boston Theatre Critics Association honoring Boston's best theatre productions. The annual awards are named for Boston's dean of American drama critics, Elliot Norton, who died in 2003 at the age of 100, and were held last night, May 11 at the Citi Shubert Theatre.

When given just 15 hours to stage a scene, students learn to trust their creative instincts. The National Music Theater Institute (NMTI) students have just returned to campus from two weeks training in New York City; scroll down for photos from the visit! NMTI is the newest credit-earning, semester-long intensive from the National Theater Institute at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center. Utilizing the O'Neill's 50-year experience in training young theater artists and history of developing new musicals (including Nine, Avenue Q, In The Heights, [title of show], and Violet), NMTI offers broad-based training in all areas of musical theater: acting, singing, directing, writing, dance, composition, and choreography. In addition to the semester's rigorous curriculum-classes 14 hours a day, 7 days a week with emphasis on collaboration and the creation of original work- two weeks of the semester are spent learning in the epicenter of American music theater.

Great performers relived their terrible performances to benefit The Performing Arts Project. On, November 3rd at Joe's Pub, Steven Pasquale (The Bridges of Madison County, 'Do No Harm', 'Rescue Me') hosted an evening of fabulous performers sharing video of their most embarrassing moments onstage and then redeeming themselves by recreating that moment live on stage.
