On Nov. 21, 2014, downtown York's historic Strand-Capitol Performing Arts Center will welcome back sarcastic funnyman Lewis Black in his new show, The Rant is Due, as the newest addition to the Strand's comedy lineup. Tickets are on sale now to Strand-Capitol members and go on sale to the general public on Thursday, April 24 at 10:00 a.m.

Having gotten his television start on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, where he was a regular correspondent for five years, humorist, journalist and actor Mo Rocca is best known for his offbeat news reports and satirical commentary. Currently a correspondent for CBS Sunday Morning with Charles Osgood, Rocca is also a panelist on NPR's hit weekly quiz show Wait, Wait...Don't Tell Me! and the host and creator of the Cooking Channel's My Grandmother's Ravioli, in which he learns to cook from grandmothers and grandfathers across the country. Mo will be the featured guest in an insightful and humorous conversation at The Ridgefield Playhouse on Saturday, May 3, at 7:30 p.m. After the on-stage interview, the audience gets to ask Mo what they have always wanted to...on most anything! Bissell House (378 Main St., Ridgefield) will pour a free glass of house wine or draught beer with dinner the night of this show when tickets/stubs are presented. Michael Pennington, two-time Olivier Award nominee, an artist of international stature and one of England's greatest classical actors, will play the title role in William Shakespeare's tragedy King Lear directed by Arin Arbus. For the second production in Theatre for a New Audience's inaugural season at its first permanent home, the new Polonsky Shakespeare Center, 262 Ashland Place in Brooklyn, Mr. Pennington leads a company of 22 actors. King Lear began previews on March 14 and will open tomorrow, Thursday, March 27, running through May 4. BroadwayWorld has a first look at the cast in action below!
