A Red Orchid Theatre proudly continues its 2009-10 Season with the return of A Very Merry Unauthorized Children's Scientology Pageant written by Kyle Jarrow from a concept by Alex Timbers and directed by Steve Wilson. The production will run November 12 - January 3, 2010 at A Red Orchid Theatre, 1531 North Wells St.

Wilton Playshop Premieres GREENBRIER GHOST, 10/23 & 10/24

ACT 1, one of Nashville's oldest community theatre groups, staged the Gilbert & Sullivan classic The Mikado as the first production of its 20th anniversary season. Running August 7-22, The Mikado was directed by Bob Fish, with music direction by Lee Druce, the cast featured Francine Berk, Whitney Rose Cone, Steven Luboniecki, Valerie Navarre, James Rudolph, Daniel Sadler, Vicki White, John Wilson, L.T. Kirk, Amber Boyer, Megan Hunt, Jamie Janiszewski, Brenda Jones, Tricia Musser, Becca Nelson, Andrew Drumheller, Jamie Helms, Josh Matthews, Danny Proctor and Daniel Vincent. The show was produced by Donald Powell, Jennifer Rybolt and Sue Stinemetz.

Set in a hotel with two connecting rooms, Unnecessary Farce takes a sting operation to silly new heights that will have audiences rolling in the aisles! Slamming doors abound in this hilarious farce featuring two likable cops operating out of their league, a possibly crooked mayor and his innocent-acting wife, a shy accountant with a tendency to drop her drawers, a double agent who'd like to get IN those drawers and a Scottish hit man with a brogue that gets thicker the angrier he gets! This dazzlingly funny comedy has more tasty twists than a bag of Twizzlers! Unnecessary Farce runs May 8th to June 21st, 2009.

This spring, John Wilson's searing play about a young Private's desertion from the trenches during World War One begins its journey at Plymouth Theatre Royal on Wednesday 25 February before visiting Cheltenham, Coventry, Newcastle, Edinburgh, Cambridge and Belfast. This play begins their seven-venue tour on February 25 at Theater Royal Plymouth.

Emmy Winning and Oscar Nominated Arranger Angela Morley Passes Away at 84

Music arranger Angela Morley, who won Emmys for arranging two of Julie Andrews television specials has died at 84 in Scottsdale, Arizona. She's said to have passed away from complications of a fall and a subsequent heart attack. The three-time Emmy winner, also received Oscar nominations for adaptaing the songs in the musicals 'The Little Prince' and 'The Slipper and the Rose' This prolific woman also wrote her own official bio for her web site, which we reprint below. A very full life! Our thoughts and prayers go out to her partner Christine Parker, along with her son, grandchildren and great-grandchildren during this difficult time.

It will open Monday, November 17, 2008 at 8 p.m. and run Thursday through Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sundays at 7 p.m. Tickets are $18 on Thursday and Sunday, $20 on Friday, and $22 on Saturday. There will be previews on November 13-16 at 8 p.m. Tickets for previews are $10. Performance closes on Sunday, December 21, 2008. There is parking available in the Mobil Gas Station across from the theater at a fee determined by Mobil Gas. For more information and reservations call (773) 871-0442.
