Orion Ensemble Features Music by John Williams, Mozart, et al. in May

The Orion Ensemble's 2010-11 season concludes in May with a program featuring Mahler, Mozart, Bolcom and Williams, as well as special guest artists. Performances take place May 1 at Fox Valley Presbyterian Church in Geneva, May 8 at Music Institute of Chicago's Nichols Concert Hall in Evanston and May 18 at Roosevelt University's Ganz Hall in Chicago.
Deborah Berman Appointed Ex. Dir. of LA Children's Chorus

Deborah Berman, a highly regarded veteran arts administrator with extensive experience on both coasts, has been appointed Executive Director of Los Angeles Children's Chorus (LACC) following a nationwide search, it was announced by LACC Board Chair David Scheidemantle. Ms. Berman has been serving as Interim Executive Director since December 1, 2010, and assumes her new post effective immediately.

Shaftesbury Sales Company, the distribution arm of leading production company Shaftesbury, today announced that Starz Entertainment in the United States has acquired both seasons of its popular 'Connor Undercover' live action adventure series for kids (39 x 30 minutes). This is the third title that Starz has acquired from Shaftesbury's award-winning kids and family slate, following the two previously announced acquisitions of the made-for-television movie Vacation with Derek and tween series 'Baxter.' VH1 announced today its lineup for the 15th anniversary season of the renowned music franchise 'VH1 Storytellers.' Featured bands and artists this season will include Cee Lo Green, Death Cab For Cutie, Kings of Leon, Maxwell, My Morning Jacket and Ray LaMontagne. Hailing back to the show's early roots, the new season will aim to provide a truly personal showcase for some of the greatest songwriters of today. The 'VH1 Storytellers' music specials focus on the anecdotes, artistic musings and stories that inspired the artists and their music. These performers aren't afraid to tell all as they expose the most intimate details of their creative process for the audience. Kings of Leon will kick off the new season of 'VH1 Storytellers' beginning this May.
