The musical adaptation of the 2006 film 'Once' will now receive a production at New York Theater Workshop in November, instead of opening on Broadway in the fall as originally hoped, according to the New York Times.

In honor of Father's Day and graduations, dads and grads may purchase discounted tickets for only $10 for BABY WANTS CANDY, the hilarious improvised musical comedy now in its fifth year at Chicago's Apollo Theater, 2540 North Lincoln Avenue, throughout the month of June. To receive the discount, dads should wear their ugliest tie and grads should wear their cap and/or gown when purchasing tickets at the Apollo Theater box office on Fridays this month.

Screen and stage heartthrob Matthew Morrison takes a break from his Glee television classroom to headline Goodman Theatre's May 21 Gala to celebrate 'One Enchanted Decade' on Dearborn Street. The Emmy, Golden Globe and Tony-Award nominated 'triple-threat' (LA Times) has captivated audiences of all ages. 'Blessed with a boyish innocence and beautiful voice' (Playbill), Morrison lights up both the stage and small screen with his mesmerizing talent. The black-tie gala event begins with a cocktail reception at the Goodman (170 N. Dearborn), followed by Morrison's performance in the 856-seat Albert Theatre. The festivities continue as guests shuttle to The Fairmont Hotel (200 N. Columbus) for an elegant dinner and dancing to the tunes of the Al Sofia Orchestra. For bassist/composer Sean Smith, his forthcoming CD 'Trust' opens an exciting new chapter in his musical life. It's his third album as a leader but his first since 2001 and the debut release for his own imprint, Smithereen Records. It features his well-traveled quartet of guitarist John Hart, saxophonist John Ellis, and drummer Russell Meissner, exploring his original compositions. And it marks a rededication to his music following his recovery from a career-threatening incident in 2007.

Hart & Patrick Milling Smith and film and theatre producers, Fred Zollo and Barbara Broccoli & Michael G Wilson have announced the creative team for upcoming stage adaptation of the 2007 Academy Award-winning film ONCE, coming to Broadway in Fall 2011. The musical will feature the Academy Award-winning music and lyrics of Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová, a book by award-winning Irish playwright & screenwriter, Enda Walsh (Penelope, Hunger, The New Electric Ballroom), direction by the acclaimed Scottish director of Black Watch, John Tiffany, design by five time Tony Award winner Bob Crowley (The Coast of Utopia, Mary Poppins). Steven Hoggett (American Idiot, Black Watch) will provide musical staging and Martin Lowe (Mamma Mia!) is the music director.
