UK theater company Cheek by Jowl returns to BAM with a new production of John Ford's Jacobean drama 'Tis Pity She's a Whore, presented in its U.S. premiere. A violent and bloody tragedy-and one of the most controversial plays in the English canon-it tells the tale of an incestuous love between Giovanni and his sister Annabella that ends in disaster and death. 'Tis Pity takes place against a backdrop of lust, vengeance, greed, and corruption.

POETIC LICENSE begins performances on Thursday, February 9 for a limited engagement through Sunday, March 4. Press opening is Wednesday, February 15 at 7:15 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:15 PM; Friday at 8:15 PM; Saturday at 2:15 PM and 8:15 PM; and Sunday at 3:15 PM. BAM has just announced its full 2012 line-up, according to the NY Times, which is set to include the previously reported RICHARD III led by Kevin Spacey. Also included in the winter/spring season are Jonathan Bates' BEING SHAKESPEARE, starring starring Simon Callow; Harold Pinter's THE CARETAKER, starring Jonathan Pryce; John Ford's TIS PITY SHE'S A WHORE; and Anton Chekhov's THREE SISTERS.

The Gaslight Theatre of Enid, Oklahoma, was founded in 1966 under its original name of Enid Community Theatre. Gaslight is one of Oklahoma's oldest and most active community theatres. The theatre is located at 221 N Independence. The current theatre was purchased and fully renovated with tremendous community support. Gaslight's mission is to promote and present theatrical productions for the education, enjoyment and literary enlightenment of the Enid area. The heartbeat of Enid's Community Theatre is that of its volunteers.
