FAKE FLOWERS DON'T DIE, winner of this year's Macy's New Play Prize For Young Audiences, opens the Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park's 2013-14 Off the Hill season with performances at more than a dozen Tristate community centers from tonight, Sept. 28 through Nov. 2. The script, by nationally acclaimed playwright John Yearley, is the 12th recipient of the Macy's New Play Prize, for which national playwrights are chosen by The Playhouse to create new work specifically for younger audiences.

This fall, Music Box Theatre's monthly Second Saturday Silent Cinema series screens a trio of excellent matinees. John Ford's remarkable first picture Straight Shooting - a Western, naturally - bows today, September 14, followed by Buster Keaton's must-see masterpiece The General on October 12 and the stop-motion sci-fi classic The Lost World on November 9. Named by Chicago magazine as the Best New Film Series of 2011 and hailed by the Chicago Reader's J.R. Jones as one of the best movie matinee series in the city, the Silent Cinema Series is presented the second Saturday of each month at noon. All films are shown authentically in 35mm at proper silent film speed and aspect ratio with live accompaniment by Dennis Scott at the Music Box theatre organ.

59E59 Theaters (Elysabeth Kleinhans, Artistic Director; Peter Tear, Executive Producer) welcomes the return of The Directors Company with the New York premiere of JERICHO, written by Jack Canfora and directed by Evan Bergman. JERICHO begins performances on Friday, October 4 for a limited engagement through Sunday, November 3. Press opening is Thursday, October 10 at 7:15 PM. The performance schedule is Tuesday - Thursday at 7:15 PM; Friday at 8:15 PM; Saturday at 2:15 PM & 8:15 PM; and Sunday at 3:15 PM. Cygnet Theatre, in collaboration with Playwrights Project, is proud to present the second annual Playwrights in Process: New Play Festival. Cygnet Theatre has long been committed to celebrating human stories through the medium of live theatre. Playwrights in Process will present four readings of new plays by Rachael VanWormer, Ross Tedford Kendall, Robert John Ford and Todd Goodlett, each of whom is a Southern California playwright or a writer with strong regional connections. The four winners were selected from 54 submissions from across the country.

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced Fasten Your Seatbelts (Part 2): 20th Century Fox (today, August 9-15), a summertime big screen showcase of some of the movie studio's most beloved and unforgettable films. Presented via DCP restorations and beautiful studio library 35mm prints, with a focus on a single artist and their creative contribution to each film, Fasten Your Seatbelts is sure to be a truly rare movie-going event. In the summer of 2010, FSLC presented the first Fasten Your Seatbelts series to coincide with and celebrate 20th Century Fox's 75th Anniversary. The popularity of that series, including screenings of classics like ALL ABOUT EVE, M*A*S*H and ALIEN all but demanded that Film Society and the studio present a 'sequel' at some point.
