In Other Desert Cities, Brooke Wyeth (to be played by Rachel Griffiths who is making her Broadway debut), a once promising novelist, returns home after a six year absence to celebrate Christmas in Palm Springs with her parents, former members of the Reagan inner-circle (Stockard Channing and Stacy Keach), her brother (Thomas Sadoski) and her aunt (to be played by Judith Light). When Brooke announces that she is about to publish a memoir focusing on an explosive chapter in the family's history, the holiday reunion is thrown into turmoil and the Wyeths are both bound together and torn apart as they struggle to come to terms with their past. This Sunday, November 6 at 12:30 p.m. WHO-TV will air a 30 minute behind-the-scenes special of WICKED, Broadway's biggest blockbuster, which flies back in to Des Moines November 9 through December 4. The special presentation reveals never-before-seen backstage footage and commentary from cast and creative team members, providing a detailed look at how the best-selling 1995 novel by author Gregory Maguire was brought to the Broadway stage and became the phenomenon it is today.

The Santaland Diaries follows one out of work actor who decides to become a Macy's elf to pay the holiday bills.

A day-of-performance lottery for a limited number of orchestra seats will be held daily for WICKED, performing from Wednesday, November 9 through Sunday, December 4 at the Civic Center of Greater Des Moines.

Rattlestick Playwrights Theater has announced the cast and creative team for the world premiere of HORSEDREAMS, a new play written by and featuring award-winning and Pulitzer Prize finalist, Dael Orlandersmith. The third production of the company's 17th season, performances of HORSEDREAMS will begin Wednesday, November 9th at Rattlestick Theater (224 Waverly Place - off Seventh Avenue South, between Perry & West 11th Streets). A new feature on Brett Ratner out in the New York Times today reveals the music video/Hollywood director and producer's surprising dream job: helming the movie adaptation of the Stephen Schwartz blockbuster, WICKED.

Lincoln Center Theater's production of BLOOD AND GIFTS, a new play by J.T. Rogers, directed by Bartlett Sher, beings previews tomorrow (Thursday, Oct. 27) at 8 pm at the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater (150 West 65 Street). The cast features Michael Aronov, Jeremy Davidson, Robert Hogan, Jefferson Mays, Andrés Munar, Rudy Mungaray, J. Paul Nicholas, Paul Niebanck, John Procaccino, Liv Rooth, Gabriel Ruiz, Pej Vahdat, Andrew Weems and Bernard White. Opening night is Monday, November 21.

WICKED, the most anticipated musical production of the 2011 - 2012 Broadway Sacramento season will go on sale to the public on Saturday, December 3 at 7:00 a.m. exclusively in person at the Community Center Theater Box Office, 1301 L Street, in Sacramento.
