In an October 2013 interview with The Guardian, HOMELAND actor Damian Lewis discussed his beginnings at the Royal Shakespeare Company and his eventual desire to leave the world of stage acting. In the course of his response, Lewis said he worried he could become like, 'one of these slightly over-the-top, fruity actors who would have an illustrious career on stage, but wouldn't start getting any kind of film work until I was 50 and then start playing wizards.' Celebrating his newly-published memoir, Song of Spider-Man - The Inside Story of The Most Controversial Musical in Broadway History, writer Glen Berger visits THEATER TALK for a in-depth two-part interview about alliances forged and allegiances broken during the creation of Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. Berger worked for 5 years to co-author the musical's original book with the show's controversial director, Julie Taymor, and remained on board to rewrite the show (with Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa) once Taymor was fired from the project in early 2011, prompting New York Post journalist Michael Riedel to refer to him as "Judas" in his column.

Public Theater Announces Fourth Extension for FUN HOME; Now Runs Through 1/12

Due to strong demand, The Public Theater announced a fourth extension for the critically acclaimed world premiere musical FUN HOME, directed by Sam Gold and featuring music by Jeanine Tesori, with book and lyrics by Lisa Kron. Based on Alison Bechdel's graphic novel, FUN HOME will now run through Sunday, January 12. It was originally scheduled to close on November 3 but has been extended four times due to rave reviews and audience demand.
