a MaMa in association with Loco7 Dance Puppet Theatre Company presents the World Premiere of Urban Odyssey, a dance puppet theatre piece conceived by Federico Restrepo and Denise Greber, designed, directed and choreographed by Federico Restrepo, with original music composed by Obie Award Winner Elizabeth Swados, and text by Elias Khoury. Loco7 is celebrating their 25th Anniversary season this year. Urban Odyssey, part of La MaMa's 50th Anniversary season, runs Off-Broadway from March 22 - April 8, 2012 in a limited engagement at La MaMa's Ellen Stewart Theatre, located at 66 East 4th Street between 2nd Avenue & the Bowery in New York City. Jim Henson's Fantastic World will be on view at Museum of the Moving Image for only one more week-closing on Sunday, March 4. The final weekend of the show, Saturday and Sunday, March 3 and 4, 2012, features several special programs to mark the close of the successful national tour of this Smithsonian traveling exhibition, organized in partnership with The Jim Henson Legacy. On these two days, the Museum will give away a free limited-edition commemorative bookmark to ALL visitors (while supplies last).

Lunatic Cunning is an original, new work by James Godwin, puppetry and performance art pioneer and founder of puppet comedy troupe, The Elementals. Lunatic Cunning is a solo, semi-autobiographical 'mockumentary', mixing experiences from Godwin's own life - such as work with Julie Taymor on Across the Universe, as well as appearances on Saturday Night Live, Chappelle's Show, PBS and with the Muppets--with an examination of the occult roots of puppetry and performance art.

On Friday, April 13 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium/Perelman Stage, The New York Pops under the direction of Steven Reinekepays tribute to iconic Academy Award-winning music scores and songs that have been the soundtrack of the American film experience over the past forty years.

The OBIE-winning HERE announced the line-up for its annual CULTUREMART festival, this year running January 24 - February 11. CULTUREMART makes process the focus, presenting work in various stages of development from the boundary-breaking artists in the HERE Artist Residency Program (HARP). CULTUREMART provides a platform for HARP artists to blur the lines between dance, theatre, music, multimedia, puppetry and visual art, on their journey to mainstage productions. CULTUREMART 2012 features 12 workshop performances spanning topics as varied as civic engagement, human error, music of the spheres, war gaming and everything in between.

CLUTTER: The True Story of the Collyer Brothers Who Never Threw Anything Out, running through March 11 at the Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N Lincoln Ave., will feature a special talkback session immediately following the 7:30 p.m. performances every other Thursday evening starting with a special "Theater Thursday" event on February 2. Dr. Scott Kaplan, an Illinois licensed clinical psychologist, will facilitate these sessions to address questions about hoarding and other themes explored in the play.
