The new musical SHIDA, written and performed by Jeannette Bayardelle -- whose Broadway appearances include leading roles in THE COLOR PURPLE and HAIR - will end its strictly limited engagement today, Wednesday, August 28 with the 8pm performance. SHIDA will have played 12 previews and 36 regular performances.

The show is a new musical that follows two Scottish performers as they join together in music and try to make a name for themselves, all while exploring the destructive and alluring romance between them. The entire piece is told through story telling and constant rock music, as these two trace their meeting, the development of their relationship, and how stardom affects their personal lives.

In 2004, the cast of the Off-Broadway hit BARE appeared at Joe's Pub in three sold-out concert benefits for BroadwayWorld.com with proceeds going to Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS.

BroadwayWorld has confirmed that Damon Intrabartolo, who wrote the music for BARE, passed away on August 13. He was 39 years old.

Futureleap Media and KHRONA Present 'BROADWAY FOR SANDY', a holiday concert benefiting those severely affected by Hurricane Sandy, tonight, December 10th, 2012 at 8 p.m. at the Elbo Room.

9-piece R&B/Pop band Nick Blaemire and the Hustle returns to Rockwood Music Hall Stage 2 for an evening of holiday songs, re-invisioned in their signature 'nerd soul' style. Expect hits like 'This Christmas,' 'What Christmas Means to Me' and 'All I Want for Christmas is You,' as well as a few original holiday tunes written for the occasion.
