Legendary television writer/producer and composer Samuel Denoff died July 8, 2011 at his home in Brentwood, California. He was 83 and suffered from Alzheimers' Disease. Services will be held Monday July 11 at 11AM at the Groman mortuary at Eden Memorial Park in Mission Hills, California.

'Bossa, Jazz 'n' Samba' (Zoho 201103) Street Date: April 12, 2011- Brazilian singer Patty Ascher holds a bachelor's degree in Literature from the University of São Paulo (USP), but she has always had the music in her life. Her father Neno was part of a very successful Brazilian band from the 70s, Os Incríveis (The Incredibles), and she has an uncle who works with many Brazilian popular artists.

The Broadway world is abuzz with all things FOLLIES so it was perfect timing that this past Monday night, at Judith Ivey's home, the 2001 revival cast of FOLLIES got together 'to glamorize the old days, stumble through a song or two, and lie about ourselves...a little.' Ok, so there was no singing, but practically the entire cast got together to celebrate what was an amazing experience in their lives and the amazing family they considered ourselves back in 2001. Blogging about the experience was Broadway veteran Randy Slovacek, who gave us exclusive permission to run his memories of the night (and production). As an actor, Randy has appeared on Broadway in Follies, Chicago and Hello, Dolly!, as well as the National companies of A Chorus Line, Cats, 42nd Street, Chicago and Hello, Dolly!. In addition, Randy is a published writer with articles in prominent magazines and is the author of his own blog, 'The Randy Report.'

I saw An Evening with Shirley MacLaine at this venue on May 6, and as much as I adore MacLaine, I couldn't help but realize that the woman could sit and read the phone book and she would have fans hanging on her every word. She looks great at 77, still has a wonderful sense of humor, is as down-to-earth and candid as all get out. Nothing has changed about her. Thank God, for we need intelligent spokespeople like her and Jane Fonda, who are first and foremost accessible to us and then struggle tirelessly to make the world a better place.

FEINSTEIN'S AT LOEWS REGENCY, the nightclub proclaimed "Best of New York" by New York Magazine and "an invaluable New York institution" by The New York Post will continue its Spring 2011 season with the debut of six time Grammy Award nominee NNENNA FREELON from May 10 through 14.

The Trinity Academy of Irish Dance steps on to the Schaumburg High School Auditorium stage for their 2011 spring performance, Inspire. In a heart-pounding display of strength and agility, Trinity dancers ages 4-18 take the stage with new choreography as well as old favorites including 'The Dawn', 'Celtic Tiger' and 'Johnny'. Special performances include Trinity II, the junior touring company, Men of Trinity and dancers fresh from the World Championships in Dublin, Ireland.
