As one family gathers to celebrate the life of their matriarch, they have a lot to say about the role of women-especially African-American woman-in history…and they do it through songs you already know. With songs ranging from "Oh Happy Day" to "I Will Survive" and the music of artists from Billie Holiday to Beyonce, you'll be tempted to sing along.

Popular up-and-coming writer and performer Tim Realbuto, who is most know for co-creating the musical GHOSTLIGHT and for a string of concerts called WUNDERKIND, highlighting his life growing up in show business, has announced his next concert venture. The show is called TIM REALBUTO IS INAPPROPRIATE and it will play on Monday, February 8th at 7:00 PM at NYC hotspot The Cutting Room.

Actors T. Oliver Reid, Analisa Leaming, and Jennifer Fouche will be the featured performers at this year's Broadway Blessing, taking place on Monday, September 28 at 7:00 pm in the landmark Church of the Transfiguration (commonly known as "The Little Church"). 

Broadway in Bryan Park continued its 2015 program on Thursday - and BroadwayWorld was on hand to capture the first day. Later this week, 106.7 LITE FM will continue its 15th annual lunchtime theatre summer series, '106.7 LITE FM's Broadway in Bryant Park.' The 2015 program will present the best of Broadway, FREE to the public, on six consecutive Thursdays at 12:30 p.m. ET on the Bryant Park Stage. Emmy Award nominated actress and Grammy Award winner Kathy Brier ('One Life To Live'; 'Boardwalk Empire'; Broadway's Hairspray), Wicked star Christine Dwyer, Wendi Bergamini (Doctor Zhivago; Promises, Promises), Jennifer Fouche ('Smash'; Sistas the musical), and Elyssa Mactas (Mean the musical) complete the cast of Tim Realbuto's June 9th Marc Shaiman/Scott Wittman tribute concert.

On Sunday, March 15 2015, to celebrate Broadway Sings for Pride's (www.BroadwaySingsforPride.com) upcoming 5th Anniversary Gay Pride charity concert in June, they will be amping up the star power and going into the recording studio. The selection of songs will be favorites from their previous shows and cast members who support Broadway Sings for Pride including a special arrangement of Seasons of Love featuring RENT Alumni.

SISTAS: The Musical, the joyful Off-Broadway production recently celebrated its three year anniversary at St. Luke's Theatre. The cast, crew, and creative team gathered after the November 8 performance to celebrate with audience members and to kick off the show's fourth season.

FST opens the Winter Mainstage Season with the energetic and colorful production of Hairspray based on the film by John Waters, with book by Mark O'Donnell and Thomas Meehan, music by Marc Shaiman, and lyrics by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman. Hairspray opens on November 15 and runs in the Gompertz Theatre through January 4, 2015. Tonight, July 15, Onemoe Music & Palm Beach Performing Arts Center will present a 75 minutes VIP Concert performance of LOUIS-AND-ELLA!, by Trent Armand Kendall (award winning writer & star of Picture Incomplete), Music Direction / Arrangements by David Snyder (Mr. Confidential, Plaid Tidings, Forever Plaid) and Direction /Choreography by Jeff Whiting (Associate/Resident Director for Bullets Over Broadway, Big Fish and Tony Nominated The Scottsboro Boys). The VIP concert will take place at The Cutting Room (44 E 32nd Street) doors open at 5PM and the presentation begin promptly at 5:30PM.

BROADWAY SINGS FOR PRIDE celebrated NYC Gay Pride by holding with their fourth annual Gay Pride benefit concert with over 15 Broadway shows represented and countless artists.

Rain has so far prevented Bryant Park Corporation and The Drilling Company's Shakespeare in the Parking Lot from presenting 'Hamlet' under the stars this Holiday Weekend in Bryant Park. So a special performance has been set for Monday, May 26 at 7:00 PM, when excellent weather is now in the forecast. The public is invited to savor Shakespeare's best-known tragedy as the holiday weekend draws to a close.

To honor Shakespeare's 450th birthday, Bryant Park Corporation and The Drilling Company's Shakespeare in the Parking Lot will present 'Hamlet' in Bryant Park today, May 15 to 31, 2014. It is Bryant Park's first Shakespeare production and The Drilling Company's first Shakespeare production outside the municipal parking lot at the corner of Ludlow and Broome Streets, where its intrepid, bare-boned productions have become a New York tradition.
