Julie Taymor Begins Arbitration Next Week with SPIDER-MAN Producers

According to the NY Times, former SPIDER-MAN: TURN OFF THE DARK director Julie Taymor and the producers of the show will enter arbitration next week over the $500,000 in royalties that Taymor claims is owed to her.

At a press conference today at the Foxwoods Theatre, Reeve Carney, star of SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark, Broadway's most popular new show, announced a new initiative to honor 'Everyday Heroes.' Flanked by the show's Spider-Men, Carney explained the details of the 'Everyday Heroes' program (outlined below), before introducing the program's first honoree: Nurse Practitioner Diane Pagan. WPPAC and Harrison Summer Theater Present SPRING AWAKENING, Opens 9/16

The White Plains Performing Arts Center (WPPAC), in partnership with Harrison Summer Theater, has announced the New York regional premiere of the Tony Award-winning musical, Spring Awakening. The upcoming performances will be on Friday, September 16 at 8:00pm, Saturday, September 17 at 8:00pm and Sunday, September 18 at 7:00pm at WPPAC, located on the 3rd floor of the White Plains City Center (Mamaroneck Ave. and Main Street in downtown White Plains).

SPIDER-MAN Turn Off The Dark, has played to over five-hundred-thousand audience members, as of yesterday's matinee performance. The 500,000th ticketholder, Australian youngster Jordan Muir, was surprised during the curtain call when Patrick Page (Green Goblin) invited the boy and his parents, Michelle and Rob Muir, onstage for a special recognition. Jordan was handed a gigantic bouquet of balloons, in Spidey's signature colors, as the crowd cheered. As they exited the theater, through the stage doors, photographers were waiting to snap pictures of the family. JorDan Held up a stage prop he had been given backstage: a copy of The Daily Bugle.
